Position Summary

The  Associate Merchant, Global Merchandising – Men’s  Apparel will contribute to the development and implementation of the Merchandising vision, strategy & tactics for Men’s Apparel resulting in sustainable, profitable growth and Brand health.  Core responsibilities will include long range and seasonal management of the: line architecture and product lifecycle plans; global marketplace channel segmentation & assortment strategies; and go-to-market operational effectiveness. This role will work cross-functionally throughout UA to build a collaborative and supportive operating environment and be a consensus-builder who drives results.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize product assortments within the global range that will maximize potential for revenue and profit across regions and accounts. 
  • Support the merchandising vision and business strategy in partnership with the Men’s Apparel Merchandising Sr. Director/VP, direct team & cross functional partners from planning, product, region and marketing
  • Support the merchandising leads of other key business units to ensure full brand alignment and maximize market opportunity
  • Create a merchandising flow calendar that identifies key items, year-over-year business opportunities, sales trends, and product launches appropriate to the Men’s Apparel Product
  • Analyze historical sales performances and use as influence in making merchandising strategies for future assortments.
  • Foster positive relationships with regional partners, soliciting their feedback and insight as to product needs and consumer reactions to product assortments.
  • Analyze and clearly communicate competitive positioning, market opportunities and segmentation strategies to influence the product assortments globally.
  • Provide direction to Product partners regarding market opportunities, consumer insights, and product assortments focusing on strategic targets, local market characteristics, budgets and SKU counts
  • Strong awareness of the impact and implications of decisions
  • Partner with Merch coordinator to operate and maintain Merchandising and Product Line Management systems (Armoury, Trasix, etc.) for the business.
  • Convey clear understanding of seasonal sales data, demand metrics, and margin targets to guide increased article productivity and growth.
  • Manage & deliver Global Merchandising GTM excellence - collaborate & effectively communicate with Merchandising team,, cross-functional and regional teammates; instill regional teammates with confidence & enthusiasm for seasonal merchandising strategies; timely achievement of all GTM milestones including quality tools/deliverables
  • Ensure merchandising operational efficiency

Education And / Or Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in product management, buying or merchandising positions. 
  • Global industry experience in consumer products (preferred, not required)

Other Requirements

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD
  • Return-to-Work Designation: 2 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote at home
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5-10%)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
