Purpose of Role

The Under Armour Platform team responsible for underarmour.com and the UA App is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Backend. This role is responsible for building new and maintain existing Node-based services and APIs in an ecosystem responsible for powering millions of customers across Web, iOS, and Android. The ideal candidate has worked with open-source technology, has been a technical mentor to other developers and has contributed code to highly scalable backend systems.

  • Build & Maintain Systems: You will contribute to the development and deployment of key systems in a production environment
  • Cross-Platform Development: Work with teams across the technology ecosystem helping to solve problems on both the backend and frontend.
  • Lead & Mentor: Guide a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Agile Delivery: Contribute to feature development in an Agile environment, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance system performance to deliver a top-notch user experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience OR typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree
  • High proficiency in JavaScript and Typescript
  • High proficiency with source control including Git
  • Proficiency with command line navigation
  • Experience with data store technologies include Postgres and Redis
  • Experience working within a service-oriented architecture
  • Experience with site performance profiling and tuning

 

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
  • Experience with DataDog, NewRelic, Honeycomb, or other APM technologies
  • Experience with SalesForce Commerce Cloud
  • Experience with React and NextJS
  • Experience with AWS services such as RDS, SQS, and Elasticache

Base Compensation

 $150,848.00 - $207,414.90 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
