Position Summary

The Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate execution of Under Amour’s payroll; participating in daily data entry and payroll processes utilizing standard Payroll functional knowledge as well as company specific Job Aids and documentation.  This position resolves Payroll exceptions, maintains data integrity, provides support to the Senior Payroll Specialist and Regional Payroll Manager. The role is involved in improving the operations and contributing to the overall teammate experience from the Payroll Department. This role is responsible for helping to drive continuous improvement across payroll.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position will support payroll processing for a single country; other duties may be assigned.

  • Process bi-weekly payroll using SAP GlobalView, ensuring payroll compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
  • Review and ensure accuracy of payroll inputs (i.e. timekeeping, integration files, manual file uploads)
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to resolve any discrepancy with inputs
  • Conduct payroll and benefit audits to ensure data integrity
  • Answer teammate queries about payroll, leave amounts, tax forms, etc.
  • Assist with researching labor and payroll laws for new jurisdictions, as required
  • Ensure data accuracy related to tax profiles
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end documents; audit ADP issuance of statutory documents
  • Review the current payroll processes and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Provide analysis and support in resolving complex payroll issues including proactively administering data quality audits to reduce the risk of payroll issues/errors
  • Assist in preparation, and delivery of value-added reports and metrics (KPI’s) on payroll activity to support business strategy and initiatives
  • Support the broader North America Team with processing, as necessary 
     

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • General knowledge of payroll concepts and processes 
  • Strong creative, analytical and problem-solving skills required; practical approach to solving issues
  • Excellent customer service focus and experience 
  • Communicates well both verbally and in writing with team members of all levels across the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive situations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work in multiple systems simultaneously 
  • Ability to respond with flexibility as organizational requirements and systems change
     

Education And / Or Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience, required
  • PCP Certification from Canadian Payroll Association or CPP/FPC from the American Payroll Association, preferred
     

Other Requirements

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Toronto, CAN office or global headquarters in Baltimore, MD
  • Return To Work Designation: 1-2 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote at home
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Significant experience in Excel, including advanced features (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
