Position Summary

Under Armour is looking for a qualified, driven Senior Director of DTC Operations.  This is an opportunity to be part of the biggest, baddest brand on the planet as Under Armour continues to impact the business like no other company has. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Director of DTC Operations are to develop and lead critical strategies to position Under Armour as a leading DTC organization and drive the operations of UA retail stores and flexible fulfillment programs.  The mission is to further enhance our athlete multi-channel experience through leadership and direction to all of the stores while partnering with e-commerce operations to maximize revenues and meet future growth plans.  Consistent implementation of strategic initiatives and achievement of goals and objectives as defined by the five core accountabilities of Revenue Generation, Establishing the Stores and Omni Selling & Service Culture, Operational Excellence, Product & Visual Merchandising and Building a great team. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Anticipate opportunities and risks and develops effective responses and action plans
  • Leverages consumer and teammate feedback and insights to make data driven decisions to drive a pinnacle DTC experience while achieving business objectives.
  • Communicate and align business strategies to core operational priorities that link the digital and physical consumer experience for Under Armour.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design cost effective and efficient programs or processes to address critical actions and business needs.
  • Closely partners with the Global CX team and the Contact Center to identify emerging trends that can drive an improved DTC experience and takes appropriate action to drive initiatives.
  • Creates a seasonal DTC plan to win the season through identifying opportunities as highlighted from last year’s hindsight and consumer and teammate feedback while also addressing emerging trends within the industry.
  • Advises business unit leadership on recommendations and influences decision making. 
  • Identify trends and opportunities to define changes in process and procedures that drive operations and selling agendas.
  • Develop communication to stores on operational and sales related activities and acts as an advisor to ecommerce leadership regarding promotions, sla’s and pricing to ensure a seamless consumer experience across channels.
  • Continuously improve operational performance in the business while considering consistency in operational processes and the needs of the total store. 
  • Influence productivity and cost saving opportunities in all operational components impacting the ecommerce and retail P&L.
  • Ensure a world class customer experience exists for our customers through effective execution of selling and service culture by continually staying connected to customer needs, anticipating changes, and preparing teams to meet consumer challenges.
  • Partner with Merchant, Planning and Allocation teams to ensure product and store allocations provides a cohesive strategy and brand experience, to drive sales revenue opportunities. 
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising to ensure achievement of visual merchandising standards.
  • Partner with Marketing & Creative team to plan and promote retail and omni signage/communication and marketing efforts. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders including Product Design, Development, Merchandising, and other channels (Wholesale, International and E-Commerce) to ensure the development of product that meets the needs of the UA Stores and continues to drive the overall brand strategies.
  • Achieve operational excellence through timely monitoring of reports to meet or exceed all financial objectives with regards to expense control, store contribution, and pre-tax income. 
  • Work with Sr. Retail Leadership to develop and evaluate strategies for opening new store formats including optimization plans that respond to regional, seasonal, and geographical needs. Partner with real estate, finance, and store development teams to determine optimal store locations.
  • Strategically support growth of ecommerce and retail business through identifying and solving consumer and teammate friction points to elevate the DTC experience.
  • Create training and re-enforce service, product, management, recruitment and sales trainings to the store managers and their teams.  Build world class service and clientele programs in the field. 

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Experience leading a business unit and/or P&L management. 
  • Proven ability to successfully act as a leader of a support center/business unit that serves a diverse set of customers.

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of related experience leading a retail or e-commerce team
  • Master's degree with 13 years of related experience
  • 19 years of related work experience with no degree
