Position Summary

MATERNITY COVER: September 2021 - March 2022

Under Armour is looking for a Lead, Strategic Channel Marketing, Pure Players to service one of our most important strategic accounts in the UK in addition to smaller Online Accounts in the UK and the Netherlands and our own B2B platform. The position reports to the Director, Channel Marketing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong proven record of implementing effective retail marketing programs for a sports or lifestyle brand. Therefore he/she has to have a precise understanding of how to build and execute online retail marketing programs. The role of the strategic channel marketing lead will be integral in delivering on brand, innovative and inspiring retail executions to elevate Under Armour's retail experience in an online environment. The position will be tasked with executing major brand initiatives and generating major account marketing initiatives specifically designed to attract, engage & drive sell through. Knowledgeable in retail marketing techniques and the integration of them into wider brand communication activity, the teammate will be expected to build plans that enhance Under Armour brand equity whilst delivering upon the specific needs of the strategic account's target market. The candidate needs to be an excellent project manager having the ability to build and execute online marketing programs. He/she must have a strong track record of managing creative/media/digital agencies and building excellent cross functional relationships both internally and with strategic accounts. He/she also needs to have a strong commercial understanding to develop and execute omni-channel marketing programs from a ROI perspective.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build & execute effective Strategic account marketing plans aligned with European Brand/category/retail marketing strategy and strategic account business plans.
  • You will be point person for all strategic account marketing discussions and day-to-day marketing relationships with the accounts in question.
  • You need to have experience and a proven track record in handling challenging negotiations with accounts and agencies.
  • Drive sell-through of UA product at online retail through the execution of Global/European & bespoke account marketing initiatives.
  • Lead the development and update of online brand stores and product detail pages, in collaboration with creative, sales and merchandising.
  • Manage the annual account marketing budgets in close coordination with European retail marketing team and strategic account sales & merchandising team.
  • Work with the Director, Channel Marketing and the European Senior Brand Director to create, manage and deliver an on time, on budget and on brand online strategic account marketing activity calendar.
  • Working with the European retail team and brand design team you will deliver account marketing initiatives through local marketing agencies.
  • You will work with the commercial team to assist in strategic account presentations and seasonal sell in activity of brand activity and account marketing support.
  • Report on/ measure the contribution of all strategic account marketing activities to establish ROI.
  • Manage all outside agency and vendor relationships related to execution of strategic account marketing plans.

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 8 years proven online marketing/retail experience with sporting goods/lifestyle brands.
  • Proven experience in working with multiple agencies, managing creative process and launching marketing campaigns.

Other Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the cross functional marketing communications mix.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid relationships with 3rd party strategic account teams.
  • Ability to multitask in high pressure environment.
  • Experience with digital display, display retargeting and pay per click
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of experimental methodologies
  • Data-driven: Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and methodologies
  • Online Tool Experience: Experience with advertising technologies like Google Display Network, Adwords, Doubleclick, Facebook Media, Criteo, Amazon Advertising is a plus
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and strong knowledge of current online retail landscape.
  • Strong presentation skills. Both verbal and written
  • Team player with a passion for sports and-or fashion and have the desire to cross the line in first place delivering executional excellence.
  • Dedicated, enthusiastic, innovative and drive to achieve the best, the teammate should be a strong communicator and able to manage their time effectively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mastery of the English language, both conversation and written is an essential function
