Position Summary

We are searching for a Sr. Footwear Color Designer to focus on and elevate Apparel Color Design.  The Sr. Color Designer will focus on color applications for various footwear categories. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative designer who is dialed into color, trends, culture and can influence future category color research and strategy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and present color concepts for footwear within various sport categories, specifically the Basketball + Curry category.
  • Be a key partner in developing culturally relevant stories and seasonal colorways that align with our greater color strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product creation partners and adjacent color/material/graphic designers to create go-to-market concepts.
  • Participate in design reviews with fellow footwear teammates offering insight and inspiration to the greater team
  • Identify and communicate key practices to ensure the function promotes a successful attitude, confidence in category color leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Provide product conceptualization and alternatives that meet the needs of the product as outlined by product marketing and the product brief.
  • Ability to push the boundaries in Footwear color, think outside the box and bring unique ideas to life
  • Contribute to fostering a culture of creativity, design excellence, accountability, and results amongst less experienced color designers.
  • Establish trusted relationships within the basketball + Curry category and maintain visibility of product creation with Color Design Director

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Attention to detail and experience multitasking and working under tight deadlines.
  • Passion every day to design compelling and cutting-edge product.
  • Solid understanding of construction and materials; preferably well versed in manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong taste level when it comes to color theory, color application and trends.
  • Ability to express concepts and ideas through sketching.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfortable working with a group.
  • Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and to successfully meet multiple deadlines

Education And / Or Experience

  • BA, BFA or BS in Color, Apparel, Graphic or Industrial Design
  • 8+ years of experience preferred


Other Requirements

  • BFA or Graphic Design, Material Design, Fine Art, or a related field with 3+ years’ experience
  •  , Advanced user of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
