Position Summary
This is a rare opportunity to be part of one of the most focal retail divisions at Under Armour. Passion, desire and integrity are traits we look for in our teammates. You will play a critical role in the selection, segmentation, placement and financials for the North America Brand House focused on Men’s Apparel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assort products to build out successful and profitable ranges for UA’s NA Brand House business guided by Global priorities and through a clear merchandising vision and seasonal business strategy.
- Manage and define a merchandising vision and business strategy for the Brand House Men’s business while reporting to the Director of Merchandising
- Create and optimize product assortments with thoughtful segmentation within Brand House that will maximize potential for revenue and profit.
- Partner and lead a team of cross functional experts assigned to the same category that include a Planning partner, Allocation Analyst, Marketing, Ops and Visual Merchandising partner.
- Collaborate with Americas merchants to understand strategy in their channels
- Create a merchandising flow calendar that identifies key items, trends, and product launches appropriate to the product category.
- Represent Brand House Retail at the merchandising, marketing and other cross functional category meetings.
- Determine strategy for floor planograms for product placement. Influence collateral needs for product placement and emphasis.
- Analyze sales trends and make recommendations for strategic action.
- Analyze historical sales performances and use as influence in making merchandising strategies for anniversary time periods.
- Foster positive relationships with the stores and getting their feedback and insight as to product needs and consumer reactions to product assortments and items.
- Facilitate and prepare line reviews for product category of responsibility.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Excellent leadership and partnership skills
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to be part of a team, set challenging standards, develop strong partnerships, and lead others to action
- Knowledge of Footwear product lines and Under Armour’s position within the industry.
- Technical Knowledge of footwear and/or experience working on a footwear business a plus
- Ability to communicate product strategies verbally and in writing
Education And / Or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5-7 years of merchandising or buying experience in a progressive, high growth retail organization
- Experience in a well-regarded consumer products company
- Have experience with a variety of go-to-market models (direct to consumer, wholesale, retail, etc.)
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5-10%)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
