Position Summary

The Sr. Lead, Development Operations will support the commercialization of a product category(ies) by interfacing with the product team as well as acting as the primary liaison to the regional sourcing team to deliver profitable and on time products within their category.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Expert understanding of the supply chain needs of one or more category product teams.  Clearly communicate style level details to the regional sourcing team to support allocation and costing.
  • Work with Development and Product leaders to create category level supply chain strategies and communicate these to the regional sourcing teams
  • Utilize expert knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing to own style engineering decisions related to cost within the product team
  • Lead cross functional efforts to achieve category target margins
  • Partner with materials, materials sourcing, and trims to deliver accurate precosts to the product team
  • Partner with regional sourcing, supply planning, and SMS teams to troubleshoot production related issues as needed

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of US tariff system
  • Communication - Must be able to lead product presentations in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. Cultivates an expanded network of cross functional skilled partners to solve category issues.  Uses high standards of integrity and a strong cultural awareness to build strong working relationships with regional sourcing teammates and factory partners. Must have superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical - Uses expertise in the garment manufacturing space to synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Project Management - Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
  • Change Management - Develops workable implementation plans; Communicates changes effectively; Builds commitment and overcomes resistance; Prepares and supports those affected by change; Monitors transition and evaluates results
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Provides multiple solutions to a give problem; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Customer Service and Teamwork - Manages challenging customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets deadlines. Contributes to building a positive team spirit

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6-10 years of related supply chain, sourcing, merchandising, textiles or apparel manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in SAP and Web based PLM systems a plus
