Purpose:  Support all aspects of tax technology and lead further adoption of best practices for tax automation, reporting, and data management using technical skills to improve tax processes and compliance, while adhering to the main pillars of Under Armour:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Play a lead role in automating tax related data activities
  • Provide project management for tax related aspects of future SAP and ancillary system implementations, updates, and upgrades
  • Assist with development and lead testing of tax requirements for all SAP and ancillary system changes, implementations, updates, and upgrades
  • Own the maintenance, user-defined configuration, and continued enhancement of Vertex O Series, the Company’s sales & use tax engine
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with IT and other business partners to resolve tax related SAP and ancillary system issues and ensure tax requirements are considered for all system changes and enhancements 
  • Refine, streamline, and standardize tax reporting and data analytics by utilizing existing tools and identifying areas for enhancement
  • Provide technical support for the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close and tax compliance processes
  • Work with tax and cross-functional teammates to establish goals and objectives for the tax relevant portions of the Company’s IT roadmap

Technical Attributes of Ideal Candidate include but are not limited to the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or Accounting required
  • Master’s degree Accounting Systems, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology and Management is a plus
  • 3+ years’ experience working in tax, accounting, business analytics, or related field required
  • Experience with an advanced ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.) required
  • Experience in data analytics systems (Alteryx, Tableau, Excel, etc.) required
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and articulate ideas and actionable recommendations required
  • Experience with indirect sales and use tax and/or VAT across multiple geographies preferred
  • Experience with Vertex O Series preferred
  • Experience with large-scale tax or accounting business processes and data flows preferred
  • Experience with large data sets and/or data investigation preferred
  • Ideal candidate will bring a creative, positive, and helpful attitude; a team oriented, customer-centric working style
