Purpose of Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Visual Merchandiser to manage the product presentation of our Managed Spaces. This role will own Visual Merchandising in the “Go To Market” process, ensure a premium execution at retail and deliver the highest return on investment, partner with the merchandising, marketing and sales teams to deliver the vision of the “end in Mind and ensure the Brand stories are coming to life in an impactful manner. The role will partner with Store Design and Development on the store opening process.

Your Impact

  • Manage VM across Managed Spaces from early concept to “Retail Theatre”.
  • Work closely with the Merchandising, Marketing and Commerce teams to deliver the best product assortment that fits the perfect vision of the end in mind (Business right, Brand right)  
  • Adopt and adapt Global and EMEA Seasonal Directives to EMEA needs. Build content and manage external vendors to build local seasonal directives. 
  • Lead in country seasonal kick off.  Ensure all key spaces are set for product launches.   
  • Ensure in season standards and KPI’s are at the highest level.  Manage the relationship with country teams.    Report learning opportunities to District Managers, Marketing and Merchandising teams.
  • Lead VM in the space design and refits process:  Collaborate with store designers and project managers to influence the design, zoning of any new space or refit.  Ensure the consumer journey works in term of capacity, story telling and flow.     Balance “Brand” and “Commercial” moments.  
  • Use consumer-based knowledge to influence the zoning of the spaces.  Plan the space opening: lead country VM’s while they prepare plan o grams and store opening plans, brief the set up teams, train the store team to ensure standards will be met when the set up team will have left the space.
  • Post store opening, ensure in season flawless communication with partners: project manager, marketing manager, product ops.   
  • Conduct monthly reviews of KPI’s and photo reporting per spaces and ensure UA functions are set to follow up on actions.
  • Be a mentor to the instore VM’s.  Develop future generation of leaders.
  • Partner with the Training Manager to build seasonal store staff VM training. Facilitate in person training.   Evaluate store execution to define future training needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in art or fashion
  • 8+ years of Visual Merchandising / Styling in a Premium Fashion Brand/ International Brand / Sport Brand.
  • Fluent in English.  Can comfortably navigate across cultures and in a complex matrix.
  • Superior presentation skills (Power point, Keynote).  Can speak to a large and diverse audience.
  • Demonstrate influencing skills to ensure key partners full “buy in”.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a high capacity to adapt to changes, dealing with ambiguity, be an extraordinary team player, be a sponge when comes to trends or industry evolution.

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam office.
