Purpose of Role
The Retail Marketing Specialist is responsible for the coordination and execution of seasonal marketing plans and collaborates with DTC retail and marketing teams to develop activations, seasonal graphics, POS materials, and communication for in-store promotions to drive traffic and increase sales.
In this position, you monitor the creation and support execution across our owned off-price/outlet channels, UA Factory House. You work with internal cross-functional departments (DTC Operations, Global & EMEA retail marketing, Brand marketing, Visual Merchandising, Store Design, Merchandising, Sales) and external production and design agencies; to ensure campaign- and instore executions are delivered on time, in scope, within budget & meeting UA’s quality standards.
Your Impact
Planning:
- Develop and manage weekly/monthly plans for all off-price marketing and in-store activations based on merchandising initiatives and sales goals
- Coordinate yearly budget planning for Factory Houses
- Support retail marketing manager in developing yearly and seasonal strategic retail marketing plans
- Develop Factory House calendars in alignment with the brand marketing calendar and local center calendars
Execution & Maintainance:
- Coordinate and execute retail marketing support & collaborate with cross-functional teams and external agencies for store openings
- Lead the execution of all seasonal in-store marketing and signage initiatives, including briefing, production, and distribution to stores via an external company
- Maintain database with store-specific requirements on signing, language requirements, and sizing of in-store marketing displays and graphics
Communication & Development:
- Communicate with center marketing on regular basis to develop regional commercial opportunities and (online) brand activations and supply centers with correct assets to support these opportunities on brand- & commercial level
- Maintain retail marketing standards in store throughout training & guidelines in collaboration with visual merchandising
- Drive seasonal and in-season information & feedback sessions with instore teammates
- Connect and collaborate with district managers to support retail marketing excellence
- Collaborate with the full retail marketing team on cross-category and -functional projects
- Track results and provide feedback & propose improvements of seasonal executions and in-store activations
Qualifications
Technical Attributes of Ideal Candidate: include but are not limited to the following:
- Education - A bachelor's degree or skill-level in marketing- or business-related studies is preferred
- Experience – Minimum of 2 years experience working in retail and marketing to execute high-impact marketing activations for stores with clear objectives and expected results.
- Retail knowledge – Understanding of EMEA Retail market environment: how customers like to buy, the purpose of stores (in relation to online) and understanding of competitor landscape.
- Good organizational and analytical skills to coordinate planning across multiple teams and sales markets and measure performance.
- Communication skills – ability to communicate to diverse teams of people and suppliers and get the most from their expertise.
- Creative affinity – understand the development and trends in retail & brand marketing and can/aspires to translate this to UA execution development. Basic experience in graphics design and POS creation is a plus.
- Fluent in English, any additional language skills are considered a plus.

Workplace Location
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam office.
- Return to Work Designation: Hybrid work (baseline of minimum 2 days a week in-office.
- Travel: 20% of the year, depending on store openings and activations
