Purpose of Role

The Associate Channel Merchant – (Sporting Goods), supports the team with delivery of merchandising strategies tailored to the respective channel business, category or gender.  

This role has a strategic emphasis on wholesale channels, particularly in cultivating growth among key accounts. You'll play a pivotal role in advancing Under Armour's presence through targeted merchandising strategies tailored to wholesale partners.

The Associate Merchant supports with the creation of a channel line plan to meet consumer needs. This role is a part of a Merchandising team that possesses deep awareness and intuition of the consumer, channel marketplace dynamics and uses this knowledge to develop long-term product strategies to manage seasonal product line architecture.  
 

Your Impact

•    Support the Merchandising team with the development of line plans to cater to consumer and channel requirements, ensuring alignment with financial targets and channel growth prospects. 
•    Operate and maintain Merchandising systems for the business.
•    Continuously monitor selling/demand dashboards and connect with regional teams and product teams to understand financial performance and opportunities.
•    Develop and execute content creation for key Go-to-Market gates.
•    Support post-mortem analyses to track market shifts and evaluate performance across various metrics, enabling agile responses to business trends. 
•    Partner with Global Product, Regional Merchandising and other Channel Merchandising teams to identify new growth opportunities and potential revenue streams.
•    Work cross-functionally and lead touchpoints with Product and Marketing Teammates to ensure connectivity on upcoming deliverables + milestones, outstanding projects, relevant market insights and opportunities.
•    Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Planning through the GTM process to strategize, present and land merchandising strategies in defined wholesale accounts.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree with typically 2 years of relevant experience or typically 5 years of relevant work experience without degree.
•    Previous experience in Merchandising, Sales or Product Management, paired with a passion for identifying trends is preferred. 
•    Ability to translate insights and market information into actionable and informed recommendations. 
•    Strong analytical skills and financial acumen; demonstrated by the ability to analyze and make recommendations that are consistent with the brand.
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to indirectly influence a variety of job functions without having full ownership. 


 

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office.
  • Return to Work Designation: 3 days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote. 

Relocation

  • Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount

 

Base Compensation

 

 $74,405.00 - $102,306.60 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
