Position Summary

The Merchant, Global Merchandising – Footwear will contribute to the development and implementation of the Merchandising vision, strategy & tactics for a portion of the Footwear line that results in healthy, sustainable, and profitable growth.  Additionally, this role will manage and support the go-to-market process for a subset of footwear product to deliver results in support of the company’s objectives.   Core responsibilities will include seasonal management of the; line architecture and product lifecycle building; Global marketplace channel segmentation & assortment strategies; and go-to-market effectiveness of the line. This teammate will work functionally and cross-functionally throughout UA to build a collaborative and supportive environment that drives results.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize product assortments that will maximize potential for revenue and profit across regions and accounts.  
  • Support the merchandising vision and business strategy for Footwear in partnership with the Footwear Merchandising leader. 
  • Work x-functionally with partners from planning, product, sourcing, development, marketing & design.
  • Coordinate the merchandising leads of other business units to ensure full brand alignment 
  • Maximize market opportunities for footwear products.
  • Create a merchandising flow calendar that identifies key items, business opportunities, sales trends, and product launches 
  • Analyze historical sales performances and use as a reference in making merchandising strategies for future assortments.
  • Foster positive relationships with regional partners, soliciting their feedback and insight on product needs to influence future assortments.
  • Analyze and clearly communicate competitive positioning, market opportunities and segmentation strategies.
  • Provide direction to Product partners regarding market opportunities, consumer insights, and product assortments
  • Partner with the Product team in assorting Footwear, focusing on strategic targets, local market characteristics, budgets and SKU counts
  • Awareness of the impact and implications of decisions made in complicated multi-brand marketplaces
  • Operate and maintain Merchandising and Product Line Management systems (Armoury, Trasix, etc.) for the business.
  • Convey clear understanding of seasonal sales data, demand metrics, and margin targets to guide increased article productivity and growth.

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years of experience in Product Management or Merchandising positions
  • Experience in a well-regarded consumer products company
  • Experience with a variety of go-to-market models (direct to consumer, wholesale, retail, etc.)
  • Industry experience in apparel or footwear products
     

Other Requirements

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD. 
  • Return To Work Designation: 2 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote. 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5-10%)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
