Purpose of Role

The Senior Vice President – E2E Planning & GTM is responsible for strategic planning, direction and overall performance of UA’s end to end inventory management operations & Go-to-Market process with a deep focus on End-to-End planning excellence.  

Responsibilities include developing and leading the implementation of the planning vision, strategy, technology, and tactics resulting in the transformation of the planning function to best-in-class Global E2E Planning.  As the GTM lead, this role will translate the organization’s product and consumer strategy to a plan that can be cascaded and executed by each function.  

This role is a critical and strategic role within the UA organization and the entire brand as it moves towards its consumer centric omni vision. This leader will work cross-functionally throughout UA to inspire a collaborative and supportive operating environment and be a consensus-builder who drives results.
 

Your Impact

E2E Planning:
- With close partnership with strategy and finance, translate LRP into seasonal targets that can drive global line architecture plans and capacity commitments from our factories.
- Lead and run the global Merch Financial Planning, Assortment and Pricing function with close partnership with the product and regional merchandising organization.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end demand planning team driving increased forecast accuracy leveraging and incorporating AI where applicable.
- Create, align, and communicate a rolling 24 month forecast and 18-month demand plan weekly while maintaining and optimizing statistical forecasting tools.
- Lead and manage the supply planning and material planning organization with close partnership with the sourcing team.
- Develop and drive the Global E2E Planning and Go-to-Market process and strategy (including ES&OP / E2E Business Planning and the Planning technology roadmap)
- Drive price optimization and promo analytics 
- Own the design and development of the DTC planning and GTM process ensuring processes are integrated end to end across our operating model.
- Drive demand, supply, merch assortment & materials plans to anticipate & forecast demand and ensure adequate supply of goods both seasonal & replenishment (i.e. auto-replenishment)
- Aggregate regional demands & actively participate in trade off discussions with regional MDs to balance supply & demand with clear understanding of regional needs & supply chain requirements. 
- Drive Core/AR product demand planning & ensure large accounts have popular items replenished on regular basis.
- Measure and analyze key metrics to determine corrective actions, and drive process continuous improvement. 
- Establish aligned global/regional metrics and KPIs including standard reports to drive cross functional communication and planning.
- Highlight planning performance as part of quarterly business review meetings and drive strategic decisions to improve accuracy and close gaps.
- Establish best practice for planning, including new process implementation, continuous improvement.
- Drive lead time reduction through better accuracy and visibility to increase responsiveness. 
- Leverage the full potential of the team by driving rigorous talent planning, investment in engagement and building highly effective teams.
- Innovation: Infuse thought leadership to continuously refine core competencies to be best in class

Inventory Strategy & Mgmt.
- Oversees global inventory management targets & metrics, ensure metrics are aligned both in pre-season planning & in season execution.
- Help define rules for inventory management & liquidation. 
- Vet demand plans against inventory levels
- Establish ABCD inventory metrics that are consistent across global and regional teams. 
- Establish guidelines for managing and defining excess including reservation requirements for different channels.
- Optimize safety stock metrics and week of supply requirements based on alignment on strategic focus by region/channel.

  • With Merchant teams: Developing global assortment that meets global financial targets; manage product lifecycle and pricing.
  • With Product, Commercial and Marketing partners: to support and align on product and marketing strategy and drive go to market timelines and milestone. 
  • Own Regional Planning partnering with regional sales and commercial teams to
    -Pre-season: ensure adequate regional input in merch assortment plans.
    -In season:  Review assignment of OTB dollars and confirm assignment meets financial targets, maintain monthly demand forecast & inventory mgmt. targets.
  • With Distribution & Logistics:  Tracking inventory and optimizing parameters, lead times.
  • With Supply chain partners to understand supply chain constraints to minimize disruption
  • With IT: drive continuous technology improvements.
  • With enterprise data management: drive AI and data governance

Qualifications

•    A seasoned industry leader in building highly effective teams for a global business with multiple channel experience 
•    Has directly managed Product Operations, Inventory Management, Merchandise/Pricing, Demand and Supply Planning  
•    Understands End to End Planning Process leveraging advanced technology.
•    Deep understanding of planning technologies such as Blue Yonder, Logility, O9 etc. Proven analytical skills and deep understanding of End-to-End Planning KPIs and reporting needs.
•    Effective communicator including presentations.
•    Strong management skills: ability to set objectives.
•    Ability to identify process opportunities and drive team to evolve current work approach.
•    Strong facilitation, collaboration, and coaching skills
•    Ability to drive engagement and excitement for team.
•    Minimum of 15 years relevant operations/planning experience in a fast-paced, product oriented, consumer-driven company, demonstrating proven career growth and increased responsibility
•    Experience managing large scale transformational projects across many functions.
•    Experience managing consultants, budgets and SOWs.
•    Seasoned change leader
•    Experience with a variety of go-to market models (wholesale, direct-to-consumer, retail, digital, etc.) in a matrixed organization.
•    Global industry experience (international) 
•    Proven experience in leading and managing a large team.
 

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
  • Work/Life Designation: Three days week in-office (Tu-Th), the remainder of work week remote. 
  • Travel: Global and Domestic
