Position Summary

The Senior Manager, International Tax will be responsible for the U.S. international tax compliance process, U.S. international tax modeling, and operational transfer pricing for Under Armour. The Senior Manager, International Tax will report to the Director of International Tax. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation of U.S. international computations (e.g., GILTI, Foreign Tax Credit, §163(j), BEAT, FDII)
  • Ownership of annual U.S. international tax compliance process (Forms 5471, 8858, 8990, 8992, 8975, 5713, and 1118) and primary point-of-contact for external tax preparers
  • Serves as project manager and primary point-of-contact for external service providers for global transfer pricing documentation
  • Responsible for global transfer pricing operations including performing calculations and coordination with regional tax and accounting personnel for posting to the general ledger, confirmation of accounting results, and coordination with global treasury to ensure proper settlement of I/C transactions and flows
  • Responsible for the international tax teams’ foreign income tax and transfer pricing compliance expenditures to budget
  • Support international tax planning and strategy initiatives, including original modeling
  • Responsible for preparation of the projected U.S. international income tax calculations to support the quarterly ASC 740 global tax provision
  • Preparation of the Company’s foreign ASC 740 uncertain tax positions analysis and documentation of conclusions in annual memorandums
  • Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit of the US international and material foreign tax accounting provisions with our external US financial statement auditors
  • Review and coordination of other aspects of U.S. international tax compliance (e.g., Form 1042, Form W-8 compliance)
  • Provide global support to Regional Tax Leads to ensure compliance with local corporate income tax and transfer pricing filing requirements
  • Provide global oversight with respect to foreign income tax audits managed by Regional Tax Leads
  • Provide global support to the Regional Tax Leads for annual audits of the tax accounting provisions with foreign statutory financial statement auditors
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders with an emphasis on internal Controllership, Legal, Treasury, FP&A, and Human Resources departments and external tax advisors
  • Execute on high-priority, vital assignments efficiently and accurately
  • Respond to sensitive and highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Ability to analyze, and interpret tax laws and regulations, technical guidance, tax journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations and apply and communicate the implications to Under Armour
  • Strong Communication skills; able to express facts and ideas in writing in a clear, convincing, and organized manner; listen effectively, and clarify information as needed to tax and non-tax internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional time and resource management skills with the ability to manage and develop a team of experienced tax professionals
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexible with change and able to shift gears quickly

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or business related field
  • 5-7+ years of public accounting tax experience or a mix of public accounting and U.S. multinational corporate tax department experience
  • Significant experience with interpreting and applying U.S. international and foreign income tax laws and regulations; specifically, U.S. international tax Subpart F (including GILITI) and foreign tax credits
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing principles and experience with implementation of U.S. and foreign intercompany transactions and agreements
  • Experienced in research of US international and foreign tax laws, rules and regulations and application to specific scenarios
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Other Requirements

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD
  • Return-to-Work Designation: 1-2 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote at home
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) highly preferred
  • Experience with SAP/FMS, Power BI/Alteryx, OneSource Tax Provision, or comparable software preferred
