Purpose of Role

Under Armour is looking for a Professional Channel Marketing to service the Sports Direct account. The position reports to the Channel Marketing Manager.
The ideal candidate will have a strong proven record of implementing effective omni channel retail marketing programs for a sports or lifestyle brand. Therefore he/she has to have a precise understanding of how to build and execute retail marketing projects. The role of the channel marketing professional will be integral in delivering on brand, innovative and inspiring retail executions to elevate Under Armour's retail experience in both an online and in-store environment. 
The teammate will be expected to bring new ideas to the table with regards to in-store presence and input into creative briefs. The position will be tasked with assisting in the execution of physical and digital branded spaces and important account marketing initiatives specifically designed to attract, engage, & drive sell through. The teammate will be expected to build plans that enhance Under Armour brand equity whilst delivering upon the specific needs of Sports Direct’s retail environments. The ideal candidate will have a proactive outlook, and will be confident to look at how to improve our retail activations and processes to keep up with consumer demand and a changing retail landscape. 

Your Impact

  • Assist in building & executing effective account marketing plans aligned with European Brand/category/retail marketing strategy and account business plans. 
  • Drive sell-through of UA product via Sports Direct’s channels through the execution of bespoke channel marketing initiatives.
  • Lead the development and rollout of the in-store branded space program in collaboration with the retail team to ensure a consistent brand appearance across all retail touchpoints, with a particular focus on flagship doors
  • Execute the quarterly retail marketing communications plan – through brand updates in-store via grapics and digital touchpoints
  • Create in-store solutions for all categories – focusing on men’s & women’s training and footwear.
  • Work with the wider team to brief bespoke content requirements across all categories, to be able to update the SD retail touchpoints in line with new product launches.
  • Work with the team to help coordinate any experiential activity in retail doors
  • Work with SD and local agencies to produce training materials to support sell through.
  • Work with the SD retail team to Identify new in-store opportunities that are brand enhancing and target the UA consumer.
  • Work with the wider channel team and brand design team to assist the Channel marketing Manager to deliver marketing initiatives through local marketing agencies.
  • Work with the commercial team to assist in account presentations and seasonal sell in activity of brand activity and account marketing support.
  • Monthly visits to 6 x SD flagship doors to maintain premium presentation and identify opportunities
  • Report on/ measure the contribution of all account marketing activities to establish ROI.
  • Manage outside agency and vendor relationships related to execution of retail marketing plans.


  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience, proven track record in retail marketing. 
  • Sporting goods / lifestyle brands experience is beneficial but not critical.
  • Prior experience working for an international brand with a strong, premium, and distinct culture.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members across all internal departments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid relationships with 3rd party strategic account teams.
  • Strong understanding of the cross functional marketing communications mix.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong presentation skills. Both verbal and written.
  • Team player with a passion for sports and-or fashion and have the desire to cross the line in first place delivering executional excellence. Loves being part of a team, both leading and serving; demonstrated deep commitment to colleagues; highly effective in a matrix environment.

Workplace Location

  • Location: UK Remote (north west preferable: Manchester/ Liverpool  )
  • Return to Work Designation: Hybrid work (minimum 1 day a week in SD head offices in Mansfield or London.)
  • Travel: Willing to regularly travel throughout the UK and Ireland market and to EMEA HQ when needed
  • Licenses/Certifications: Full UK driving license required
