Purpose of Role

The Lead, Internal Communications will be a key contributor in engaging, inspiring, and empowering our teammates across the globe through compelling communications. This role will work with the Director of Internal Communications to shape and deliver impactful messaging that supports key business, brand, product, athlete, partnership and purpose-driven initiatives.  

 

The Lead will build and execute innovative communications tactics to elevate and champion the brand with our teammates. They will develop strategy and messaging, and design content that will support company-wide initiatives, programs, events, campaigns and announcements that drive impact, engagement and UA’s culture.

Your Impact

  • Design for the Audience: Manage content development, design, and maintenance of internal communication platforms including global Town Halls, intranet site, newsletter, email, video, MS Teams and more.
  • Coordinate the Editorial Calendar: Manage and maintain a strategic calendar to align internal messaging with product drops, athlete moments, brand campaigns, and cultural tentpoles in alignment with broader brand narratives.  
  • Elevate the Work: Identify and implement innovative content strategies that reflect cultural relevance and visual storytelling through digital media.
  • Support Proactive Storytelling: Craft rich and compelling stories that resonate with teammates and reinforce UA’s mission and values.
  • Connect the Dots: Partner with leadership team and cross-functional partners to bring company goals, values and vision to life internally.
  • Track the Play: Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication projects to identify opportunities for improvement. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience or master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience or typically 12 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities with a focus on relevance and audience engagement.
  • Skilled in editorial planning, project management, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Passionate about sports, digital culture, and impactful storytelling that inspires.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint SharePoint
  • Experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus
  • Video content development experience is a plus

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore HQ office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

 $97,459.09-$121,823.87 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
