Purpose of Role

At Under Armour we are rethinking how e-commerce should be done and we want brilliant engineers to help us create our next generation mobile apps. Taking advantage of cutting-edge technology, we are assembling a modular, maintainable and performant mobile platform that leverages automation to give engineers a good balance of freedom, insight and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable and extensible mobile systems that integrate seamlessly with backend services.
  • Lead the full lifecycle of app development—from architecture and design to deployment and maintenance.
  • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code that meets performance and reliability standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for design, testing, performance, and security.
  • Define and enforce best practices across the mobile development life cycle.
  • Assist in triage and resolution of production issues to maintain system stability and user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience writing software within an Agile or similar development environment
  • 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team
  • Applicable experience building applications in a mobile platform
  • Extensible experience writing unit tests and testable code
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with modern libraries and tools (e.g. Swift/SwiftUI, Copilot, KMP, Kotlin/Coroutines)
  • Experience working closely with product and design teams to break business requirements down into actionable engineering tasks
  • Comfortable working with RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Build and release procedures across both mobile platforms

Base Compensation

 $157,933.20 - $217,158.15 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
