Position Summary

This role will be responsible for managing the negotiation, review, and execution of regional indirect procurement contracts supporting our Marketing, Technology, Retail, and Corporate Services teams in the China region. This individual will have responsibility for sourcing competitive deals through RFx projects, negotiating with 3rd party suppliers for favorable terms and conditions, connecting with our Legal team to review terms, and working with internal stakeholders on project needs. This position will have responsibilities to include proactive identification of spend reduction opportunities, and building a project pipeline to ensure 1/2/3 year views of spend reduction opportunities. The individual should be proficient with contract redlining, running an RFx project, be a strong communicator, have professional writing skills, and possess a strong understanding of the Procurement and Sourcing process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • The individual will be responsible for gathering business requirements from stakeholders, requesting contracts from 3rd party suppliers, reviewing initial drafts + conducting commercial term redlining (payment terms, commercial billing terms, deliverables, project timeline, commercial constructs), partnering with our internal teams to complete appropriate legal / privacy / cyber / risk reviews, negotiating with the supplier on behalf of UA, managing internal questions to reach alignment on final contract, facilitating the execution process through UA systems, ensuring signature through regional processes, working with internal teams + suppliers to support ongoing efforts as-needed post-contract execution
  • Collect internal business requirements, researching suppliers for inclusion in the sourcing event, drafting sourcing documentation, engaging suppliers, managing an internal project management plan + meeting cadence with UA teammates, collecting external questions + working with SME’s internally to respond, collecting + assessing supplier presentations, providing pricing + commercial analysis on supplier options to internal teammates, building presentations to display RFx findings, awarding contracting + managing contract negotiation with winning supplier
  • Aligning with internal resources (FP&A + business partners in Marketing, Technology, Retail, Product, Corporate Services, etc.) to build sourcing pipelinesProviding status updates to teammates on existing projects. Providing post-contract support (research, documentation, etc.) after engagement concludes
  • 3rd Party Supplier Negotiation: Build commercial term sheets, and leading negotiations with external suppliers, adhering to UA standard commercial positions on key terms
  • Spend Analysis + Contract Research: Responsible for reviewing spend data in our analytics system, SpendHQ, and working with global teams to add input into global category strategies.
  • Project Planning: Responsible for managing RFx meetings with internal resourcesSetting up + managing external sessions with suppliers (finalist sessions, technical reviews, negotiation sessions). Responsible for sequencing projects to ensure ability to meet key business deadlines, and managing their workload based on project prioritization

3-5 years procurement experience with bachelor degree
