Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, the Assistant Manager, Brand and Performance Marketing is responsible for the planning, execution, and analysis of full-funnel media strategies across Australia and New Zealand to drive both brand equity and performance outcomes. You will be responsible for developing integrated media plans that connect brand storytelling with consumer conversion across owned eCommerce sites, driving traffic and sales. You will also be the strategic lead for agency management, media partnerships, and performance optimization across the region.
Your Impact
- Manage key partnerships with digital marketing agencies to execute, analyze, and optimize paid media and affiliate marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Coordinate with vendors and agencies regularly to monitor spend and adjust based on performance to maximize ROI where needed.
- Conduct A/B testing to refine creative, messaging, and targeting, using insights to optimize acquisition and reactivation campaigns.
- Explore and unlock new digital marketing channels to drive revenue.
- Write and brief campaign briefs into agencies for effective execution.
- Handle reporting, analysis, budget management, and ensure a solid return on investment.
- Partner with regional and local operational teams to support the launch and go-to-market strategies of collections, products, and promotions.
- Collaborate with the wider Brand Marketing team to align on digital campaign calendar activities.
Media Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute holistic media strategies that align with brand priorities, campaign objectives, and commercial targets.
- Drive the integration of brand awareness campaigns with performance-focused tactics to maximize ROI across channels.
- Translate global and regional campaign frameworks into local media plans.
- Manage media budgets to ensure efficiency and impact in achieving goals.
Performance Marketing Leadership
- Own and optimize full-funnel performance campaigns across UA.com.au.
- Collaborate closely with brand, eCommerce, and Digital Merchandising teams to align on promotional calendars, KPIs, and product push priorities.
- Drive efficient acquisition, conversion, and re-engagement strategies through paid media, retargeting, affiliate, and search channels.
Media Buying & Optimization
- Lead day-to-day media planning and execution in partnership with external agencies.
- Ensure agile optimizations and A/B testing frameworks are in place to continuously improve results.
- Monitor pacing and budget allocation to ensure efficient use of spend across markets and campaigns.
Agency & Partner Management
- Act as the key liaison between UA and external media agencies; set clear KPIs and hold partners accountable for delivery.
- Manage briefing, performance reviews, and workflow processes to ensure timely and effective campaign delivery.
- Build strong relationships with media platforms (e.g., Meta, Google, TikTok) to unlock innovation and added value.
Reporting, Insights & Measurement
- Define and track KPIs aligned with both brand health and performance outcomes (e.g., CPM, CTR, ROAS, CAC, LTV).
- Lead post-campaign analysis, consumer insights, and reporting to inform future media and content strategies.
- Support internal reporting needs for cross-functional and leadership teams.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
- Partner with Brand, eCommerce, Merchandising, and CRM teams to deliver integrated consumer journeys.
- Collaborate with SAPAC and Global teams to align on strategic direction, toolkit usage, and best practices.
Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of related experience in brand and performance media, preferably in sportswear, consumer, or eCommerce-driven brands.

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Digital marketing expertise with a key focus on paid media and lead generation activities.

Expertise in marketing technology tools (e.g., Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, social platforms), including analytics platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Power BI).

Proven experience managing media agencies and large-scale digital campaigns.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to dive into analytics and stay flexible to build and tweak the strategy when needed.

Proven track record of managing a multi-million-dollar budget and optimizing spend across channels to achieve strategic upper- to mid-funnel objectives.

Well-developed stakeholder relationship management and collaboration competencies across all levels of the organization.

Proven competency with office suite software.
