Purpose of Role
The HR Operations Specialist is a key partner within our EMEA HR team, serving as the primary point of contact for teammates in Germany and Austria. In this role, you’ll ensure a seamless and positive experience throughout every stage of the employment lifecycle by providing expert guidance, reliable support, and high-quality operational execution.
You will take ownership of country-specific HR processes, act as a Subject Matter Expert for defined workflows and projects and play a central role in maintaining operational excellence across the region. Your work directly contributes to enhancing teammate satisfaction, productivity, and engagement, making you an essential driver of our people-first mission.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, HR Operations EMEA.
Your Impact
- Serve as the trusted first point of contact for teammates, providing clear guidance on HR questions and ensuring every interaction reflects our UA service standards and delivers a positive experience.
- Own and execute end‑to‑end HR processes across the full employment lifecycle—from onboarding and offboarding to benefits, payroll coordination, and leave administration.
- Process benefit enrollments, allowances, and country‑specific requirements with accuracy and speed, ensuring teammates receive timely and correct documentation.
- Communicate HR updates and changes confidently to teammates and external partners, ensuring smooth transitions and full compliance.
- Deliver exceptional support through the AskHR ticketing system, resolving inquiries efficiently with a strong “first‑time‑right” mindset.
- Prepare and input all teammate changes into payroll systems with precision, safeguarding data accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain high‑quality personnel data in our global HRIS and collaborate with vendors to ensure seamless processing.
- Lead the development, rollout, and continuous improvement of HR policies, country handbooks, and procedures that align with local legislation and best practices.
- Keep personnel files up to date, conduct regular audits, and ensure full GDPR compliance.
- Contribute to or lead projects focused on improving, automating, and simplifying HR processes and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to elevate operational excellence, enhance data quality, and introduce smarter, more efficient ways of working
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an HR Operations role supporting Germany.
- Hands‑on payroll submission experience is essential; prior experience working with ADP is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Retail and familiarity with Austrian HR practices are a plus.
- Fluency in business English and German.
- Strong customer‑service mindset, with the ability to respond quickly to teammate needs and use feedback to enhance service delivery.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented, able to balance daily tasks with longer‑term projects through effective prioritization.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all work.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Collaborative team player who communicates openly, listens actively, and builds strong working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Positive and proactive approach to challenging existing processes, always seeking opportunities to improve data quality and operational workflows.
- Solution‑oriented mindset with strong follow‑through, able to identify issues early and drive them to resolution.
Workplace Location
- Location: Amsterdam office.
- Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation
€43,462.28-€54,327.84 EUR
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
