Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Director, Benefits and working in close partnership with the HR Director, EMEA, the Benefits Lead, EMEA will serve as the regional subject matter expert and strategic partner for the design, implementation, administration and continuous improvement of Under Armour’s Total Rewards programs across the EMEA region.

The Benefits Lead will help drive the regional Total Rewards strategy, ensuring alignment with Under Armour’s global rewards philosophy while adapting programs to local market conditions, regulatory requirements and business needs. This role will be responsible for benefits, compensation and global mobility programs across EMEA and will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal and business leaders to deliver competitive, compliant and scalable reward solutions that support attraction, retention and engagement of talent.

Operating in a highly matrixed environment, the Benefits Lead must balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and HR partners across both corporate and retail populations.

Your Impact

Benefits

  • Lead implementation, administration and renewal of benefit programs across EMEA, including governance, compliance, risk management, employee communications, and education initiatives.
  • Oversee the benefits enrollment lifecycle, including new enrollments, coverage changes, and terminations, in collaboration with local HR Operations teams. Partner with HR Operations and the HR Pod model to design, implement, and continuously enhance effective onboarding and offboarding benefits processes.
  • Work with HR Ops and Systems Team to ensure benefits are properly configured and integrated with UA and Vendor Systems.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Legal, vendors, and country teams to administer statutory, company-sponsored, and vendormanaged leave programs, ensuring compliant case management, accurate pay and benefits continuation, timely documentation, and consistent teammate experience.
  • Support the continuous improvement of regional leave administration processes, including intake, eligibility determination, employee communications, return-to-work and accommodation coordination, vendor and broker management, data tracking, and escalation of complex cases, while ensuring clear accountability and effective collaboration with local HR and business partners.  
  • Evaluate benefit offerings regularly and recommend enhancements based on market trends, business needs, statutory changes and employee feedback.
  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, consultants, leave administrators and external vendors, ensuring high service levels, compliance and cost effectiveness.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Partner with HR, Legal and business leaders to support compliance with the CLAs, EU Pay Transparency Directive and other emerging reward-related legislation across EMEA.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compensation, benefits, leave of absence and employment regulations, as well as market practices within key EMEA countries.
  • Ensure all compensation, benefit and leave programs are administered in accordance with local country requirements and corporate governance standards.

Global Mobility

  • Support and coordinate global mobility programs and assignments across the EMEA region.
  • Partner with external providers and internal stakeholders (Global US team) to ensure compliant and effective mobility practices and employee support.

Financial Management

  • Oversee benefits invoicing and collaborate with Procurement and FP&A to reconcile vendor payments and ensure accurate, timely invoice processing.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities related to compensation, benefits, leave of absence and mobility programs.
  • Monitor program costs and recommend actions to maximize return on investment while maintaining market competitiveness.

Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze & audit compensation, benefits, leave and workforce data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop data-driven recommendations and insights to support business decision-making and reward program effectiveness.
  • Produce regular reports, dashboards and presentations for HR and business leadership.

Qualifications

  • Strong consulting, influencing and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong project management and change management skills.
  • Experience working with leading HR tools and technology – including AI advancements • Fluency in English required. Dutch and/or another European language strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Total Rewards experience within an international, multinational environment.
  • Significant experience leading benefits programs, including leave of absence administration, combined with exposure to compensation and global mobility.
  • Proven experience supporting multiple countries across the EMEA region.
  • Experience managing reward programs for both corporate and retail employee populations preferred.
  • Experience within retail, consumer products, apparel, sporting goods or similarly dynamic international organizations preferred.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

 

 €70,000.00-€95,000.00 EUR

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
