Purpose of Role

The Social Media Lead will play a pivotal role in driving Under Armour’s brand presence and engagement across the EMEA region. This role is dedicated to connecting with our community through innovative and impactful social media strategies that resonate with athletes, influencers, and consumers alike. By activating our athletes and influencers and creating compelling social content, you will help elevate Under Armour’s brand story, ensuring that our message of performance and innovation reaches and inspires audiences across the region.


Under Armour is seeking a dynamic and innovative Social Media Lead to join our EMEA team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our social media strategy, focusing on activating Under Armour athletes and influencers, owning social content briefs, and leading the social activation plan for our brand and product campaigns. You will play a crucial role in amplifying our brand presence across EMEA, ensuring that Under Armour continues to push the boundaries of performance and innovation. 

Your Impact

Growth & Engagement: 

  • Oversee the growth and engagement of Under Armour’s regional social media handles. Utilize data-driven strategies to expand our audience and deepen engagement, ensuring our social presence is vibrant and impactful.


Athlete Social Activation:

  • With the partnership of Sports Marketing team, Lead and execute the social media activation of Under Armour athletes across the EMEA region.
  • Create compelling social content that resonates with both the athletes' audiences and the broader Under Armour community.


Influencer Activation:

  • Identify, engage, and activate key influencers who embody the Under Armour brand ethos.
  • Develop influencer strategies that drive engagment and conversion across all relevant social platforms.
  • Collaborate with influencers to create authentic, high-impact content that aligns with our brand values and campaign goals.


Social Content Brief Ownership:

  • Take ownership of social content briefs, ensuring all content aligns with the brand’s tone, style, and campaign objectives.
  • Work closely with creative teams and agencies to develop innovative social media content that drives engagement and brand loyalty.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across all social channels and content pieces.


Campaign Social Activation Planning:

  • Develop and implement social media activation plans for brand and product campaigns across the EMEA region.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate social media efforts with broader marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, using insights to optimize and refine social media strategies.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Marketing, Sports & Business or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing experience in a fast-paced, product-oriented, consumer-driven company and previous leadership experience
  • Proven experience in a social media communication, preferably within the sports industry
  • Strong understanding of the social media landscape, preferably within the UK, France, Spain and Germany
  • Demonstrated ability to manage athlete and influencer social activations
  • Experience in creating and executing successful social media campaigns and content strategies
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across various departments
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable strategies
  • Experience working with or managing external agencies

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam office.
  • Return to Work Designation: Hybrid work (baseline of minimum 2 days a week in-office.
