Purpose of Role

The Creative Director, Digital Experience will lead the creative digital product connected to Under Armour’s Omni-Channel experience. This role will participate in leading in the brand’s omni-creative direction, partnering with internal and external teams to execute on the brand’s storytelling vision. The Creative Director, Digital Experience will report into and work closely with the Head of Global Brand Experience to lead in strategy, design, and guidelines for branded programs across UA.com, UA mobile App, and digital media, with reach to UA Retail and wholesale channels.. In addition, this role will creatively lead Customization, Personalization and Loyalty initiatives. This role will partner with cross-functional teammates to drive an engaging omni-experience and be the key stakeholder connecting digital creative across the UA ecosystem.

The Creative Director, Digital Experience partners global creative leadership and channel partners (Marketing, Merchandising, Digital Product, Retail, and Operations) to lead in the development of creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and advance our omni-brand strategy.

Your Impact

  • Direct and inspire an omni-minded team of art directors, designers and writers to maximize and evolve UA’s digital experience with the best athlete experience in mind.
  • Drive consumer-centric, brand elevating, engaging creative and tactical application -- from concept through high-quality output.
  • Participate and lead in the balance of Brand stewardship and Commercial needs.
  • Achieve quality work that meets our goals while being distinctive in the industry -- effectively guiding teams to the strongest solutions.
  • Work with cross functional partners (Brand Creatives, Marketing, CI, CX, UX/UI) to create impactful content and purposeful experiences, that are thoughtfully and purposefully connected.
  • Partner with UX and Retail to lead a UA wide digital design system.
  • Develop positive working relationships globally, regionally, and cross-functionally.
  • Mentor team members to grow and become the best creative version of themselves.
  • Contribute to our creative culture and continue to refine our processes.
  • Stay current with cultural landscapes and trends for relevancy and inspiration.
  • In-tune with technological advancement to inform and innovate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Art or a related field with typically 12 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 10 years of relevant experience or typically 16 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • Typically, 6+ years of management experience; or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in area of expertise.
  • Extensive experience leading omni-channel campaign development
  • Minimum 5 years as a proven team leader in the digital space.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and AI tools
  • Proven experience with User Experience design (UX, interaction design, motion design, technology, and usability).
  • Experience succeeding in a fast-paced growth environment involving time-sensitive, complex projects
  • A winning attitude, passion for sport, and an understanding of the athlete mindset.
  • Design chops: creative, curious, experimental --  a command of visual systems and digital technology.
  • Strategic thinker who leverages data to make informed decisions and understands the Omni-Channel ecosystem and customer journeys.
  • A great communicator who can navigate ambiguity and have honest, direct discussion.
  • A pro-active, proven natural leader who leads by example, yet is not afraid to jump in and roll up their sleeves.
  • An understanding of global relations and regional nuance.
  • The ability to use creative genius and passion for solving problems in an artful way.
  • Digital Guru who blends art, commerce, and technology
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills- specifically experiencing leading and inspiring creatives
  • Ability to rapid protype and visualize thinking in real time
  • Ability to direct and manage multiple creative teams and agencies

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD HQ office. 
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week. 
  • Travel: IE- 5-10% of the year

Base Compensation

$155,000.00-$200,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
