Purpose of Role

The Director, Global Labeling & Packaging role will lead the company’s efforts around all required labeling, product packaging, and inbound packaging optimization work for all divisions (Apparel, Accessories and Footwear). This leader will be responsible for owning initiatives to enhance packaging efficiency, cost, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards. This role will be the centralized leader to execute UA’s new governance framework for inbound packaging optimization and will be responsible for ensuring a smooth rollout and responsible for managing  the program going forward.

Your Impact

•    Governance and Compliance: Execute UA’s new governance framework for inbound packaging optimization and ensure compliance with customer standards and global regulations
•    Collaborate with senior leadership to adopt packaging strategies with business goals across all selling regions
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives in packaging processes, i.e. MOC usage, MOC optimization based on product type, Footwear box optimization, etc.
•    Ensure labeling compliance across all selling regions
•    T2 Vendor Management: maintain strong relationships with GL&P vendors in all regions to deliver quality GL&P products on time to T1 vendors
•    Ensure clear communication re: GL&P with T1 vendor base across all divisions, ensure vendor queries are supported as needed
•    Partner with Design and Product Line Management to deliver seasonal packaging developments on time while managing innovation, quality, and cost
•    Continue sustainable packaging initiatives to deliver against UA sustainability strategy for packaging parts
•    Lead a team across multiple regions

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
•    10+ years of experience in packaging engineering, with a proven track record of building scalable and compliant packaging systems; consumer goods background preferred
•    Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for consumer products packaging 
•    Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving end-to-end ownership of packaging processes
•    Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
•    Passion for innovation and sustainability in packaging development
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams

Workplace Location

•    Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office. 
•    Return To Work Designation: 4 days in office; 1 day remote
•    Travel: Some domestic travel; rare international travel
•    Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Base Compensation

 $155,615.76 - $213,971.67 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
