Purpose of Role
The Director, Workforce Architecture is a future-focused leader responsible for driving change at scale by defining how Under Armour’s workforce will transform in the face of emerging technologies. Future workforce readiness goes well beyond technology, focusing on operating model, talent, culture, agility, and execution. This role leads workforce strategy, translating emerging technologies into clear implications for roles, work design, skills, talent priorities, and team design. This leader partners across HR and UA’s central AI team to ensure the organization moves beyond tool adoption to true work transformation, redesigning how work gets done and how talent is reconfigured and redeployed.
Your Impact
Workforce AI Strategy
- Develop and lead workforce strategy aligned to business goals and AI investments.
- Translate AI strategy into workforce implications across roles, workflows, skills, and teams.
- Advise on talent-related trade-offs in workflow transformation decisions.
- Ensure alignment between business priorities, AI capabilities, and workforce planning.
Work Redesign & Operating Model Evolution
- Lead redesign of work at scale, moving from task automation to workflow and team transformation.
- Help teams advance from basic AI adoption to full workflow, process, and operating model redesign.
- Map opportunities and priorities to restructure and automate work across human + AI collaboration.
- Partner with HR to evolve org structures to reflect new ways of working.
Talent Architecture & Workforce Segmentation
- Define and deploy a modern talent architecture aligned to AI-first transformation.
- Identify gaps and priorities in skills, tasks, workflows, roles, individual and team capabilities.
- Partner with HR to shape hiring, development, and strategic talent investments.
- Use LLM APIs, agent frameworks, AI-native platforms, and workflow automation tools to rapidly iterate without requiring dedicated engineering resources.
Transformation Execution & Value Realization
- Translate workforce strategy into actionable roadmaps with clear owners, timelines, and deliverables.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of workforce transformation initiatives, ensuring clear scope, milestones, and execution plans aligned to business priorities.
- Establish project governance, operating cadence, and cross-functional alignment to drive execution.
- Define success metrics, track outcomes (e.g., productivity, cost efficiency, workforce mix, speed of execution), and ROI showing measurable business impact.
Transformation Advisory & Change Leadership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to HR and business leaders on workforce transformation.
- Guide decisions on where to automate, augment, or redesign work.
- Support prioritization of transformation initiatives based on talent impact and feasibility.

Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in HR strategy, workforce planning, org design, or consulting.
- Experience in organization effectiveness, organizational development, organizational design, transformation, workforce planning, operating model design, and/or human resources.
- Experience in product management, applied AI, or technical solutions is an advantage.
- Experience building things with AI: you have used LLM APIs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, and AI-native tools to create working prototypes without heavy engineering support.
- Experience in large-scale transformation or work redesign.
- Strong ability to translate complex concepts (AI, technology, strategy) into workforce implications.
- Executive presence with ability to influence leaders and stakeholders without authority.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, IT, HR, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Workplace Location
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore (HQ) office.
- Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.
Relocation
- Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount
Base Compensation
$155,000.00-$200,000.00 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
