Purpose of Role


The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for applying HR policies, procedures, and programs in their region. They support employees and guiding the escalation, redirection or resolution of HR related questions and requests appropriately.

 

Your Impact

  • Remain well-versed in HR regulatory and UA HR Policy knowledge and stays informed of changes in both areas
  • Act as the first point of contact to employees for HR related questions and requests. Guide the escalation, redirection or resolution as appropriate, with empathy, while being pragmatic and consistent to standards and guidelines.
  • Develops, implements, reinforces, and modifies HR policies, programs, and procedures. Audits HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements.
  • Partners closely with Benefits and Legal in ADA, Leave Accommodation requests.  Directly managing the interactive process.
  • Researches and gathers information to support HRBPs, including base-line job description/profiles
  • Day-to-day administration of benefit enrollment such as pensions and lease cars, company doctor administration, onboarding, etc
  • Responsible to ensure benefit’s provider payments are processed timely
     

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with typically 2 years of related experience OR Master’s degree without experience OR typically 6 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • PHR or SPHR certificate preferred.
  • Responds promptly to teammate needs; solicits teammate feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance.
  • Experience in a high volume, fast paced work environment.
  • Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality; remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.
  • Communicates clearly and persuasively in positive or challenging situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions
  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments.
  • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately.
  • Demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD office.
  • Work Schedule: 4 days per week in office

Base Compensation

 

 $62,419.86 - $85,827.30 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
