Purpose of Role

The UA Protect – Investigator role is an integral part of the UA Protect – Retail & Investigations team at Under Armour, responsible for aggressively investigating and proactively protecting global corporate and retail businesses units from theft, fraud, safety, security, and violations of policy/procedure.

Your Impact

  • Conduct and support investigations of all theft, fraud, and policy violations in Retail, Corporate and Supply Chain to include the Americas (US, Canada, Mexico), EMEA and APAC.
  • Support brand and trademark infringement investigations to include transshipping, social media, and organized retail crime (as requested).
  • Support prompt resolution of safety and security incidents.
  • Support and maintain partnerships with UA Protect – Retail Team in the Field (Senior Managers, Regional Leads)
  • Expert in CCTV systems (specifically GENETEC, Indigovision, Exacqvision) tools and how to use them to resolve active investigations across the fleet. 
  • Expert in exception-based reporting system (SECURE) to support the identification and investigations of theft, fraud, and violations of company policy.
  • Conduct admission seeking interviews in all investigations which may include both internal and external subjects.
  • Collaborate on and influence UA Protect policy and procedure globally.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with key leaders and stakeholders throughout corporate, retail, supply chain, and international business units.
  • Provide subject matter expertise when collaborating with UA Protect leaders and others on critical tools and policies.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement through case assistance and participation in global, regional associations/conferences.
  • Ability to support preventative UA Protect culture through education, awareness, and resolution, by influencing key leadership and teams on best practices through communication, travel, presentations, and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic and paper case files, reports, and any required documentation to meet UA Protect investigations standards and protect UA from legal liability. 
  • Utilize exception-based reporting system and in-house case management system to produce reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive resolution and trend analysis to proactively protect people and profitability.
  • Manage case restitution process with external vendor. 
  • Conduct other assigned duties – travel, store visits, special events, as needed or requested.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with multi-store and multi-region asset protection/loss prevention investigations experience with the proven aptitude to conduct investigative case work and closures.
  • Aptitude for conducting internal investigations and interviews, preferred qualifications should include both basic and advanced interview training through Wicklander, Zulawski & Associates. 
  • Collaborator who possesses the ability to work independently to identify and resolve business problems within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to strategize and innovate to anticipate problems and implement solutions. 
  • Enhanced “super-user” experienced with exception-based reporting systems and distinct ability to understand financial reporting/statements, investigative reports, and technical procedures that contribute to loss and shrink. 
  • Prior experience influencing and training leadership on best practices for minimizing loss due to theft, and proactively educating teams on trends as it relates to shortage, safety, and security.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Programs 

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore HQ office.
  • Return to Work Designation: 3 - 4 days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote. 
  • Travel: Up to 20% travel required (may increase at peak periods based on needs of the Department and Business)

Base Compensation

 

 $54,968.00 - $75,581.00 USD

 

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
