Purpose of Role

The Lead, Channel Planning – Wholesale Team – Sport Marketing is responsible for the planning & execution of distribution and promotional activities for Under Armour products across its channel. This role requires understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to effectively allocate resources and maximize ROI. The Lead will work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure alignment and drive business growth.

Your Impact

•    Execute the development of bottom-up merchandise financial plans for the channel, ensuring alignment with overall regional and business strategies. 
•    Create what/if scenarios to guide leadership decisions, providing insights on channel profitability and risks. 
•    Lead the tracking, testing, and analysis of contingency pricing strategies, providing detailed reports and recommendations to improve channel performance. 
•    Develop comprehensive weekly price plans, categorized by full price, promotional, and markdown buckets, optimizing channel sales performance. 
•    Execute the planning of size eligibility, floorsets, and pre-pack management, ensuring channel strategies are executed effectively. 
•    Partner with Regional Merchandise Financial Planning teams to reconcile top-down and bottom-up plans, ensuring consistency and accuracy. 
•    Work with Regional Channel Merchandising to align the bottom-up financial plan with the assortment strategy, ensuring inventory and sales goals are met. 
•    Lead the gathering and analysis of hindsight data, sharing insights at key meetings and influencing future channel strategies. 
•    Collaborate with channel business teams and other departments to ensure channel financial plans are integrated with overall business initiatives. 
•    Continuously monitor financial and product performance against targets, making proactive adjustments to meet channel goals. 
•    Drive successful outcomes and alignment by collaborating with peers in the achievement of team goals 
•    Manage weekly channel demand forecast at style-color level both for pre-season and in –season, corresponding to merchandising finical plan and inventory KPIs. 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience OR Typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree
•    5+ years of experience in Sales or Merch Planning, Demand Planning and Allocation. 
•    Experience in the apparel or footwear industry is preferred. 
•    Proven track record of executing successful Wholesale Channel strategies. 
•    Proficient in channel planning, scenario planning, and long-range forecasting using market trends, financial plans, consumer insights, and historical data. 
•    Robust analytical skills with the ability to influence by interpreting complex data to drive decision making. 
•    Ability to collaborate across teams and senior leaders and expertly communicate complex data insights and algorithm-driven findings to non-technical stakeholders 
•    Expertise in conducting comprehensive financial analyses and generating detailed reports that drive decision-making. 
•    Ability to lead financial strategy development, integrating financial acumen into overall business strategy and planning initiatives. 
•    Skilled in using data analysis. 

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

 

 $97,175.63-$121,469.54 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
