Purpose of Role

The Global Brand Communications Lead will be a key architect of our earned media strategy, partnering across the business to shape narratives around our brand, product innovations, athletes, partnerships, and purpose-driven initiatives. This role sits at the center of UA’s heartbeat, bridging internal insights with external impact to build reputation, drive relevance, and reignite belief in what Under Armour stands for.

Your Impact
- Craft the Story: Develop compelling, authentic messaging and media strategies across key brand categories by supporting launches, campaigns, partnerships, and corporate milestones.
- Earn the Headlines: Pitch and secure impactful media coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and social platforms - targeting outlets and creators that influence both culture and commerce.
- Own the Editorial Calendar: Drive the narrative and timing around product drops, athlete moments, brand campaigns, and cultural tentpoles.
- Build Relationships that Matter: Cultivate trusted relationships with key journalists and media voices; act as a strategic liaison and brand representative at events and activations.
- Collaborate Across the Field: Partner with product, marketing, social, community impact, and sports marketing teams to ensure message alignment and media excellence.
- Track the Play: Measure impact through coverage tracking, sentiment analysis, and stakeholder reporting to ensure we’re not just creating noise - we’re creating results.
- Strengthen the System: Maintain key press materials, media lists, newsroom content, and reporting frameworks that allow the team to operate at peak performance.
- Lead with Intention: Support the evolution of UA’s brand communications function by helping reduce agency dependency and building best-in-class internal capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of experience in communications, media, PR, or editorial roles or Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience or typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree.
- A proven ability to lead high-impact storytelling across a matrixed organization.
- Deep understanding of the earned media landscape, with a sharp editorial instinct and a strong network of journalist and creator contacts.
- Exceptional writing and message development skills with the ability to build compelling narratives.
- Proven experience managing multiple workstreams under pressure, with a knack for pivoting quickly and delivering consistently in a complex organizational structure.
- A deep love for sport, a pulse on culture, and an understanding of how brands show up in today’s media and consumer environment.
- Confident cross-functional collaborator who thrives in high-performance, team-first cultures.
Workplace Location
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD HQ office.
- Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 3 days in-office per week through September 5, 2025. Beginning September 8, 2025, the in-office requirement will increase to 4 days per week.

Base Compensation
$97,459.09 - $134,006.26 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
