Purpose of Role

The Lead Salesforce Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and scaling enterprise-grade solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role provides technical leadership across the full development lifecycle, partnering with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions. The ideal candidate will drive best practices in development, integration, and release management while mentoring a team of developers. This role enables the organization to maximize value from Salesforce by delivering reliable, efficient, and innovative customer experience solutions.

Your Impact

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of Salesforce solutions across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, Agentforce Agents and numerous integrations
  • Architect scalable custom solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce platform features
  • Partner with product owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and solution architecture
  • Oversee code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and adherence to development best practices
  • Drive integration design and implementation using REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, and middleware tools
  • Mentor and guide developers, promoting technical growth and consistent engineering standards across the team
  • Manage deployments and release processes, ensuring stability across environments
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure system reliability
  • Establish and enforce platform governance, security, and performance optimization standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, QA, business stakeholders) to deliver aligned and high-impact solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience OR typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree
  • 5+ years of Salesforce platform experience
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce development (Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flow)
  • Strong experience designing and implementing integrations using APIs, middleware, and external systems  
  • Proven experience architecting scalable solutions for complex, enterprise-level business and technical challenges  
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into structured, high-quality technical solutions  
  • Proven experience leading development efforts and mentoring teams in an Agile delivery model  

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore HQ office.
  • Work Schedule: Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to our corporate headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, as periodic on-site attendance may be required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: (Preferred not required)
    • Salesforce certifications such as: Platform Developer I/II or Architect certifications
    • Experience with AgentForce
    • Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant Certification or Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant Certification

Base Compensation

$125,000.00-$165,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
