Purpose of Role

The Lead, Store Development plays a critical role in driving the successful execution of store 
construction projects across the North America market. Oversees variety of project types including new 
store builds, remodels, and special projects from concept to completion This role partners with both 
internal cross-functional teams and external consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure all projects 
are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with brand standards. The ideal candidate brings deep 
experience in retail construction, project management, and stakeholder coordination, and thrives in a 
fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your Impact

• Lead end-to-end project management for new store builds, remodels, and special projects 
across the North America market.
• Manage the production of construction documents through external consultants, 
coordinating closely with internal partners.
• Communicate design direction clearly, effectively, and in a timely manner to internal and 
external stakeholders.
• Develop and manage detailed project budgets and schedules; proactively identify risks and 
implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain a strong understanding of regional and national code requirements, including ADA 
guidelines, IBC, and other applicable laws.
• Collaborate with landlords’ tenant coordinators to ensure design intent aligns with landlord 
criteria; identify exceptions and implement design solutions.
• Review landlord signage criteria and coordinate with Under Armour’s sign vendor to 
approve preliminary drawings.
• Maintain accurate documentation and project tracking tools, including drawing documents 
in the global portfolio database.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve delivery 
timelines.
• Prepare presentation decks for internal and external audiences.
• Complete fixture takeoffs and coordinate with Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and 
Operations to confirm quantities prior to ordering.
• Place fixture orders once construction documents are finalized.
• Coordinate deliveries with consultants, general contractors, and fixture suppliers.
• Manage punch lists and track resolution of outstanding items.
• Conduct site visits, framing inspections, and punch walks as needed.
• Perform warranty walks and manage ongoing warranty issues to ensure timely resolution 
by general contractors.
• Collaborate with the Facilities Team to set up new sites in Service Channel prior to store 
openings.
• Provide the Facilities Team with all asset information for new stores, including test & 
balance reports, operating manuals, certificates of occupancy, lighting and HVAC 
specifications, finishes, fixture generation, square footage, and project type.
• Support the Senior Manager of Store Development & Facilities with additional duties as 
assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related 
field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in store development, design, or project management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of architectural details and specifications for construction document 
production.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams including landlords, architects, engineers, 
general contractors, and internal leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong time management, prioritization, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• General understanding of building codes and environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with vendors, consultants, 
general contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to balance design intent with operational needs and budget constraints to deliver 
exceptional store environments.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to travel up to 30% as needed.

Base Compensation

 

$103,318.00 - $142,062.25 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
