Purpose of Role

The Manager, International Tax will be responsible for US international tax compliance and modeling/forecasting, including calculating the Company’s GILTI & Subpart F liabilities, FDII, BEAT, 163J and foreign tax credit limitation. The role also requires supporting UA’s LATAM corporate and withholding tax compliance processes.  The position will report to the Senior Manager, US International Tax and Planning. 

Your Impact

•    Prepare computations of US international tax (GILTI, Subpart F, Foreign Tax Credit, §163(j), BEAT, FDII) and related analysis for provision, tax return, forecast and planning purposes.
•    Ownership of annual US international tax compliance process (Forms 5471, 8858, 8990, 8992, 8975, 5713, and 1118) and primary point-of-contact for external tax preparers.
•    Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit of the US international tax accounting provisions with our external US financial statement auditors.
•    Track and model global tax positions and their potential impacts on the company’s effective tax rate and maintain documentation supporting tax positions
•    Responsible for staying up to date on changes in international tax laws as well as supporting projects related to global tax strategies
•    Perform tax research, including analysis of Federal tax laws
•    Review and coordinate of other aspects of US international tax compliance (e.g., Form 1042, Form W-8 compliance).
•    Oversee outside tax consultants preparing LATAM tax compliance; including tax return review, support of audited financial statement preparation and foreign tax audits, reconciliation of tax accounts, and other ad hoc issues.
•    Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
•    Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders with an emphasis on internal Controllership, Legal, Treasury, FP&A, and Human Resources departments and external tax advisors. 
•    Detail oriented with ability to execute on high priority, vital assignments efficiently and accurately. 
•    Respond to sensitive and highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
•    This role does not have any direct reports

Qualifications

•    3-5 years of public accounting tax experience or a mix of public accounting and US multinational corporate tax department experience.
•    Significant experience with interpreting and applying US international and foreign income tax laws and regulations; specifically, US international tax Subpart F (including GILTI) and foreign tax credits.
•    Ability to analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations, technical guidance, tax journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations and apply and communicate the implications to Under Armour.
•    Strong Communication skills. Able to express facts and ideas in writing in a clear, convincing and organized manner; listen effectively, and clarify information as needed to tax and non-tax internal and external stakeholders.  
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required. 
•    Experience with SAP/FMS preferred.
•    Knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting is a plus.
•    Experience with Mexico corporate income compliance is a plus.
•    Power Bi/Alteryx, OneSource Tax Provision or comparable software is a plus.

Base Compensation

 

 $103,918.85 - $142,888.42 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
