Position Summary

Under Armour is seeking a Factory House Merchant, Americas Merchandising to join a passionate and results-oriented Factory House Merchandising Team. As a Merchant, this individual will be responsible for anticipating our Factory House Athlete’s needs, understanding the market landscape, and building an assortment and segmentation strategy for the different store’s sizes/Tier to best represent the brand. A successful Merchant will work in partnership with Global Merchandising, Planning/Allocation, Pricing, Marketing and VM to ensure complete execution of our GTM strategy.   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define the product assortment strategy for Factory House connected to Brand Vision and Strategic priorities.
  • Drive and build seasonal assortment / product “creation” to identify the optimal product mix (Right product, Right place, Right price & Right time) 
  • Understand & define Athletes needs to create powerful merchandising plans that drive profitable sales and support the brand position.  
  • Lead the Go To Market process development (act as the POD Champion) in partnership with Planning, Pricing, Allocation, Marketing and VM to build our Seasonal Plan creation 
  • Run the business in partnership with the POD by analyze sales, margin, inventory (OH and future arrivals) and sell-out to assess opportunities and risk to achieve our final plan and propose adjustment if needed
  • Cooperate with Pricing, Planning and Marketing to Ensure price, promotional strategies and marketing support the financial plan of the category (gender/division)
  • Align and partner with Global Merchandising to drive big stories in Factory House and identify future opportunities
  • Foster positive relationships with cross-functional team and Global gaining their feedback and insight as to needs and consumer reactions to product assortments and items.
  • Consolidate feedback and review from in season performance (hindsight process), both qualitative and quantitative, into actionable follow-up for Global Merchandising teams or cross-functional partner to achieve our goals
  • Analyze sales trends and competitive landscape and make recommendations for strategic action and segmentation (from in season promotion to long term plans)
  • Regularly visit and understand local markets to develop expertise in consumer purchase behavior to continuously improve our store experience 
  • Responsible to have Trasix (Merchandising Visual Line Plan system) updated on weekly base; database that will drive downstream documents floorset and on floor/site go live
  • Develop and Build our Team for future opportunities

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Ability to communicate product strategies verbally and in writing.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
     

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Management or Merchandising (Merch, VM or Planning) positions
  • Experience in a well-regarded consumer products company
  • Have experience with a variety of go-to-market models (direct to consumer, wholesale, retail, etc.)
  • Industry experience in consumer products

Other Requirements

  • Return to Work Designation: 3 days in office, remainder of the week remote
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5-10%)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
