Purpose of Role

The Product Line Manager (PLM), Licensed Youth and Eyewear, will support the Accessories and the Licensing Product Creation team and manage a diverse set of licensed product categories that service UA’s global business. These products are distributed via UA’s direct-to-consumer channels and licensee sales teams. 

In this role of PLM, you will report to the Sr. Director and work cross-functionally with UA’s Global Product, Marketing, Operations, Design, Development, Merchandising, Planning, Retail, Sales, Finance, and Accounting teammates to meet business objectives. In addition, you will work with assigned external license partners on strategizing, designing, creating, and bringing innovative, differentiated, Brand-right products to market while serving as an advocate and liaison between UA’s external partner and internal teammates across various departments.
 

Your Impact

  • Develop a global product line vision, line architecture, and lifecycle plan to communicate strategy seasonally.  
  • Responsible for the day-to-day category operations, including data and sample management. Oversee, manage, and ensure all systems + data are up to date and input on time.
  • Develop, Implement and Communicate the seasonal product strategy and own Go-To-Market (GTM) calendar alignment and implementation. Drive on-time execution from product briefs to commercialization.
  • Partner with the licensee to build briefs and communicate the vision to cross-functional partners. Partner with licensee design, development, and sourcing teammates to deliver great Brand-right products that hits licensee margin targets and revenue plans.
  • Manage licensed categories and partners on a global scale, ensuring alignment between regions and licensees regarding seasonal product assortment, GTM calendar milestones, region-specific product needs, and on-time product delivery.
  • Own product line metrics such as sales history, forecast trends, market trends, product mix, and price points to drive decision making, product strategy, and assortment planning.
  • Analyzing the marketplace (competition, price points, commercial needs) and anticipating /creating future trends.
  • Connect with athletes through focus groups, group interaction, and observation.
  • Track online product reviews and customer returns to identify quality issues and opportunities to improve future iterations of products.
  • Work with marketing partners, both internal and external, to ensure product differentiating features and Brand-right messaging are conveyed.  Consider all aspects of final execution including but not limited to packaging, marketing, and presentation (both on ecommerce and at brick & mortar).
  • Serve as Brand ambassador to Licensee by providing and educating with branding tools and design direction to ensure success, as well as socializing and coordinating approvals for design, product, and marketing.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Licensee’s contractual obligations and associated financial implications of decisions. Accountable for ensuring contract adherence of directly managed licensees. 
  • Partner with Licensees and UA Direct-to-Consumer Teams to drive “best in class” assortment and presentation.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 4+ years in product management, merchandising, or related role.
  • A PLM should be able to analyze and articulate information around bookings, sell-through, and trends to inform future line plan decisions. Ability to communicate product strategies verbally and in writing.
  • Basic PLM pod management and understanding of product building is expected as this is above entry level, preferred experience managing full Product Lifecycle.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts.
  • Project management, product marketing and/or consumer insights experience
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners through strong and proven relationship building.
  • Ability to operate independently in a highly entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to define, prioritize & efficiently solve problems with the best interest of the target consumer in mind.
  • Ability to mine consumer insights and translate them into product solutions.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions—strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Strong presentation, time management, collaboration, and influencing skills. Team Player Attitude.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, Maryland office.
  • Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote. 
  • Travel: Domestic travel (5%)

Relocation

  • Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount

Base Compensation

$112,268.00 - $154,369.60 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
