Purpose of Role

The Product Line Manager, Youth, owns the end-to-end creation of the Youth product line from concept through commercialization.

 

As the category expert, you will develop a global product line vision, create and execute seasonal strategies and build a cohesive product line that harnesses the power of UA Innovation to drive commercial impact with regions and accounts.

 

In this role, you will report to the Director, Youth Apparel & Footwear and work closely with internal and external cross functional partners in Design, Innovation, Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Operations, Retail, and Sales to deliver against business objectives

Your Impact

  • Build and manage the Youth product line and business.
  • Lead the product creation process with Design, Innovation, Product Development and Sourcing to hit overall seasonal dates.
  • Develop a global product line vision and partner with Global Merchandising to build line architecture and lifecycle plans to communicate strategy seasonally. 
  • Partner with Global Merchandising on creation of design brief, with final accountability for the brief.
  • Drive communication with the sourcing and materials teams with ultimate accountability for margin targets and on-time commercialization.
  • Research and apply consumer insights from athlete feedback, fit & wear test results, market & competitive trends to ensure UA is building market leading product across multiple end-uses, genders and regions.
  • Drive SKU productivity and profitability.
  • Build and present exceptional product strategies, presentations and selling tools to support the category’s vision through the GTM (go-to-market) process.
  • In partnership with Merchandising, conduct consumer research and competitive analysis to identify/anticipate trends and market opportunities to maintain competitive edge.
  • Meet regularly with the sales, merchandising and planning teams to review forecasts, bookings, POS, market trends, account feedback and competitor landscape to respond quickly to opportunities and inform future assortment planning, product mix and price points to drive continuous improvement of the Youth business.
  • Track online product reviews and customer returns to identify quality issues and opportunities to improve future iterations of products.
  • Work with marketing partners, both internal and external, to ensure product differentiating features and Brand-right messaging are conveyed.  Consider all aspects of final execution including but not limited to packaging, marketing, and presentation (both on ecommerce and at brick & mortar).
  • Act as a UA Global Brand liaison to drive alignment with external licensing partners and internal stakeholders. Drive seamless integration of licensee into UA GTM process and drive best in class UA licensed product and presentations at retail.
  • Have a working knowledge of Licensee’s contractual obligations and associated financial implications of decisions. Accountable for ensuring contract adherence of any directly managed licensee and tracking against revenue targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience or typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree.
  • Deep understanding of the Youth consumer, category, and marketplace
  • Project management, product marketing and/or Consumer Insight experience. Preferred experience managing Full Product Life Cycle.
  • Proven ability to lead seasonal strategies, pricing, and channel-specific assortments across global markets.
  • Strong business acumen - can analyze and articulate information around bookings, sell-through, and trends to inform future line plan decisions. Ability to communicate product strategies verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to gather consumer insights and translate into product solutions.
  • Excellent presentation skills and interpersonal communication skills - ability to influence, align, collaborate and inspire.
  • Ability to successfully lead a cross-functional pod.
  • Exceptional organizational skills - Able to multi-task across categories and functions.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and exhibits exceptional time management, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Team Player with a growth mindset, passion for building product and obsession with quality
  • Ability to define, prioritize & efficiently solve problems with the best interest of the target consumer in mind.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret contracts.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, Maryland office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 3 days in-office per week through September 5, 2025. Beginning September 8, 2025, the in-office requirement will increase to 4 days per week. 
  • Travel: 5%

  • Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount

Base Compensation

$111,919.79 - $153,889.70 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
