Purpose of Role

Corporate Strategy at Under Armour operates at the global level to define and drive the company’s long-range vision and strategic priorities across all business units. The team partners cross-functionally to analyze consumer insights, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes; conduct research; build financial models; and develop actionable plans that embed strategy into the company culture and align with organizational KPIs. The Principal, Corporate Strategy – Long Range Strategic Direction, 3-Year Plan & Go-To-Market Focus plays a critical role in shaping UA’s global portfolio strategy by determining the 5-year strategic direction and leading the development of the integrated 3-year plan. This includes assessing growth potential, investment needs, and strategic relevance across divisions, genders, and sport categories, while collaborating with global functions and regions to ensure alignment. Additionally, this role ensures that long-range strategies and integrated plans are accurately translated into the Go-To-Market process, guiding where to play and how to win across the global business.

Your Impact

  • Oversee and coordinate all strategy functions to create one integrated corporate strategic plan.
  • Provide strategic leadership and influence across the Executive Leadership Team and global functions.
  • Lead development and evolution of UA’s long-range strategic direction (5-year plan) and ensure alignment across the business.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance to establish 3-year revenue and investment targets that guide integrated planning.
  • Drive creation of the 3-year integrated business plan in collaboration with global functions, regions, and enabling teams.
  • Serve as the key liaison to the Go-To-Market (GTM) process, ensuring long-range strategy and 3-year plans inform seasonal planning cycles. Participate in early GTM stages and act as the primary contact for strategic alignment throughout the process.
  • Optimize prioritization of global resources and investments to maximize growth and brand value.
  • Lead transformational initiatives, including partnerships, new business models, capability development, and inorganic growth opportunities to diversify and strengthen the business.
  • Manage strategic projects with a focus on COO priorities, acting as an internal consultant to address business challenges and opportunities. Drive both evolutionary improvements and revolutionary growth initiatives through rigorous analysis and problem-solving.
  • Interpret and communicate corporate strategy to cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity and alignment in execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate strategy performance through scorecards and KPIs, identifying gaps and recommending adjustments to maintain strategic relevance.
  • Support executive off-site meetings by shaping strategic content and facilitating discussions on long-range plans and priorities.
  • Conduct contingency planning and gap analysis to pressure-test strategies and develop actionable solutions for evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 12 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 10 years of relevant experience or typically 16 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • Typically, 6+ years of management experience; or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in area of expertise
  • Proven experience leading long-range strategic planning and developing strategy for consumer-focused businesses.
  • Strong ability to analyze business from a portfolio perspective, addressing tradeoffs and growth opportunities.
  • Skilled in influencing and collaborating with C-suite executives and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams through strategy development, problem-solving, and analytics.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Advanced project management capabilities and experience running integrated, cross-functional processes in large organizations.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly matrixed environments, managing shifting priorities and high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and experience with digital or omni-channel strategy preferred.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD HQ offices.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week
  • Travel: Ability to travel internationally and domestically (5-10%)

Base Compensation

 $169,965.86-$212,457.33 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
