Position Summary

Strategize and lead the performance services that solve real problems for athletes, trainers, and coaches. Own and foster working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to create and implement systems to assess, analyze and improve the way athletes train, compete, recover and live, including but not limited to product and services insights from the field, across all UA's categories. Partner and collaborate with external partners, athletes, coaches, Academic Institutions and technology partners on a global basis to gain insight into performance enhancement and support future development of performance enhancing technology and application updates. Lead the execution of projects related to new technology or integration of existing technology on an open platform. Manage and coordinate with external partners to ensure they meet our standards of research and performance and move projects through the innovation cycle. Partner with sports marketing and brand teams to add value to UA athletes and teams and ensure authentic messaging across the athlete performance / training world. Lead, manage and inspire a team to support and execute against projects covering retail experiences and global events to bring to life a unique athletic experience to UA's focused performers.
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

⦁    Lead a team of professional scientists to work with Under Armour's biggest sports
⦁    marketing assets and memorialize the athlete experience for brand story telling
⦁    Drive new and novel innovations that arise from ascertaining real athlete needs based
⦁    upon trusted insights.
⦁    Lead a robust human performance research agenda and collaborate with key external
⦁    academic and technology partners to unlock innovations in footwear, apparel,
⦁    accessories and experiences for focused performers.
⦁    Inspire our connected fitness consumers with experiences that incorporate authentic
⦁    coaching and relevant data to inform and motivate in our digital environments.
 

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

⦁    Possess the ability to effectively assess the athletic performance of elite athletes with internationally recognized protocols.
⦁    Possess the ability to apply analytical tools to data, then format, display and communicate to elite athletes and coaches
⦁    Possess the ability to utilize collected data to write and implement high performance programming.
⦁    Possess the ability to effectively communicate performance stories to brand marketing
⦁    Possess a deep understanding of the innovation process and how to work within go to market time lines for consumer products.
 

Education And / Or Experience

⦁    Under Graduate degree in Business Management / Marketing
⦁    Masters degree in Exercise Science
⦁    10+ yrs working in professional sport in full time position
⦁    5+ yrs working in professional sport in head of performance role
⦁    Experience working with professional male, female and youth athletes.
⦁    Experience working in health & fitness industry with general consumers
⦁    Experience of working in multiple Countries / cultures pertinent to UA's core growth global markets
⦁    Experience working with large sports brand in performance training role.
⦁    Experience presenting at major industry conferences
 

Other Requirements

⦁    Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD. 
⦁    Return To Work Designation: 3 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote. 
⦁    Travel: Extensive global travel required: Europe, Asia, North Americas
⦁    Licenses/Certifications:
⦁    Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSCS or UKSCA)
⦁    NASM - Corrective Exercise Specialist CES, Performance Enhancement Specialist PES
⦁    National Governing Body Weightlifting certification eg (BAWLA or USWLA)
⦁    National Accreditation in Nutrition
