Purpose of Role

We’re looking for a Senior Designer who excels in fast-paced product creation and is passionate about bringing new ideas to market quickly. This role requires a strong understanding of trends, consumer behavior, and apparel construction, paired with the ability to rapidly develop products that are innovative, brand-right, and commercially compelling. Your Impact

  • Lead the design and execution of multiple apparel product platforms, translating consumer, product, and merchandising insights into market-relevant product that meets price, margin, and business objectives.
  • Drive a fast-paced design process in close partnership with Product Line Management, Development, Materials, and Merchandising teams to deliver product efficiently and on time.
  • Identify emerging trends, cultural influences, and consumer opportunities, rapidly converting insights into compelling apparel concepts and product solutions.
  • Own the creation and presentation of design storytelling materials, including trend boards, mood boards, concept decks, merchandising pages, fabric direction, and trim presentations.
  • Develop and execute clear, detailed sketches, technical packages, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support streamlined product creation and commercialization.
  • Lead the design process from concept through final execution, ensuring milestone deliverables are completed with speed, accuracy, and quality.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to build commercially relevant assortments that balance innovation, consumer demand, and business goals.
  • Serve as the design lead throughout product reviews, fittings, color reviews, and milestone meetings, clearly communicating vision, rationale, and recommendations.
  • Make informed design decisions that drive product excellence while supporting efficient development timelines and speed-to-market objectives.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, accelerate execution, and bring fresh, impactful product to market ahead of trends.

Qualifications

  • Passion every day to design compelling and cutting-edge product.
  • Solid understanding of construction and materials; preferably well versed in manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to express concepts and ideas through sketching.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfortable working with a group.
  • Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and to successfully meet multiple deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience or typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Passion every day to design compelling and cutting-edge products.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

$90,000.00-$120,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
