Purpose of Role
The Sr. Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs for U.S. teammates (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and other benefits and wellness programs). This position also provides excellent customer service to a variety of internal customers and monitors benefit administration across multiple systems and applications. Additionally, the Sr. Benefits Specialist will provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs, including leading of Open Enrollment.
Your Impact
• Ensures compliance of benefits programs, utilizing knowledge of benefits legislation (COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA, ADA and others) and Summary Plan Descriptions by staying up to date on rules and regulations impacting benefits
• Establish and maintain partnerships with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure programs and plans are accurately and efficiently administered.
• Perform and oversee audits for data integrity related to teammate enrollments, ACA compliance, COBRA administration, and file feed error reports.
• In collaboration with other departments, work with third-party vendors to prepare and submit data files and internal reporting for benefit programs related to audits, annual compliance testing, and year-end data collection.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices for all benefit programs, perform detailed reconciliation of invoices against benefit enrollment data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Review and approve payroll funding reconciliations and ACH/wire transmittals for weekly payroll deductions for programs related to 401(k) and Flexible Spending Accounts.
• Provide analytical support in the design, development and administration of benefits programs, plans and processes for U.S. and Canada employee population. Assess the competitive marketplace, including emerging trends, and provide analysis and recommendations to provide competitive and differentiated benefits that support the Company’s overall employee value proposition. Assess the impact and effectiveness of current benefits programs.
• Prepare communication materials as needed, including periodic updates and delivering training sessions for HR and teammates on benefits programs and changes.
• Provide timely responses to requests and questions regarding benefits, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Provide guidance to employees, managers, HR business partners and other stakeholders regarding eligibility, plan provisions, regulatory compliance and other matters related to benefit plans and programs.
• Assist Benefits Team leadership with responsibilities and projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive benefits experience across all key areas of benefits administration
- Minimum 3 years of vendor and/or project management experience
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Ability to problem-solve, automate processes and improve efficiencies
- Applicable system (SuccessFactors, ADP, SharePoint) experience, preferred
Workplace Location
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD HQ office.
- Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 3 days in-office per week through September 5, 2025. Beginning September 8, 2025, the in-office requirement will increase to 4 days per week.

Base Compensation
$74,747.00 - $102,777.40 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
