Purpose of Role

The Sr. Director, Strategy – Americas will lead regional strategy evolution and execution across the Americas, ensuring strong alignment with Global Strategy while shaping and activating strategies that reflect regional market realities. This role partners closely with the Chief of Staff, FP&A and senior leaders to translate strategy into clear priorities, operating plans, and measurable outcomes.
 
With a small, high-impact team, this leader will drive strategic clarity, enable disciplined execution, and ensure the Americas organization delivers against enterprise priorities across all commercial channels. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational rigor, and strong cross-functional influence and collaboration.
 

Your Impact

Regional Strategy Leadership
•    Lead the evolution of the Americas strategy in alignment with Global Strategy, adapting enterprise priorities to regional market dynamics, consumer and customer insights, and channel needs.
•    Operate with a portfolio-level vantage point across the Americas, viewing the region holistically and understanding how strategies within one commercial vertical or function create downstream impacts across other functions, channels, and commercial verticals.
•    Ensure strategies are developed with full enterprise consideration—balancing growth, operational feasibility, financial impact, and cross-functional implications.
•    Act as a strategic thought partner to Americas leadership, providing insight-driven recommendations to support growth, profitability, and sustainable competitive advantage.
•    Ensure clear, strategic narratives and priorities are communicated consistently across the region.
 
Strategy Execution & Operational Excellence
•    Own and oversee strategy execution across the Americas, ensuring plans are translated into actionable initiatives with clear owners, milestones, and success metrics.
•    Partner closely with the Chief of Staff to align strategy with operating rhythms, governance, and leadership forums.
•    Monitor progress against strategic priorities, proactively identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities, and driving course-correction as needed.
 
Cross-Functional Partnership
•    Work in close collaboration with Commercial, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations leaders to ensure integrated execution across all channels.
•    Ensure strategic initiatives are aligned with financial plans, resource allocation, and capacity.
•    Serve as a connector between Global Strategy teams and Americas stakeholders, ensuring alignment, feedback loops, and shared accountability.
 
Team Leadership & Capability Building
•    Lead and develop a small, high-performing regional strategy team, setting clear expectations and fostering strong analytical and executional capabilities.
•    Create a culture of rigor, curiosity, and accountability within the team.
 
Insights & Decision Support
•    Leverage data, consumer insights, and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
•    Frame complex issues clearly for senior leaders, providing structured analysis and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

•    12+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, or related roles within retail, consumer goods, or adjacent industries.
•    Strong understanding of retail, with experience across Direct Retail, eCommerce, and Wholesale business models.
•    Proven track record of translating strategy into execution and driving results in complex, matrixed organizations.
•    Experience partnering closely with senior leadership and influencing without direct authority.
•    Demonstrated people leadership experience, including building and leading small, high-impact teams.
 
Skills & Competencies
•    Strategic and analytical thinker with strong business acumen.
•    Exceptional execution discipline and operational rigor.
•    Strong communicator, able to simplify complexity and align diverse stakeholders.
•    Highly collaborative, with the ability to build trust and credibility across functions and geographies.
•    Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving progress in fast-paced environments.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

 

 $198,481.60-$248,102.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
