Purpose of Role

The Sr. Director, Wholesale Sales- Sporting Goods is responsible for leading Under Armour's Sporting Goods channel strategy and driving profitable growth across key wholesale partners, including Dick's Sporting Goods (DSG), and Foot Locker Inc. This leader will oversee a significant revenue portfolio, build senior-level customer relationships, and develop strategic plans that accelerate brand growth and marketplace impact. The role requires a seasoned sales executive with deep Sporting Goods industry experience, strong executive presence, and a proven track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.

Your Impact

•    Develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth, market share, and profitability across the Sporting Goods channel.
•    Lead the annual and seasonal go-to-market process, ensuring alignment across sales, merchandising, planning, marketing, and operations.
•    Own account planning, forecasting, and revenue delivery for a large and strategically important wholesale portfolio.
•    Identify marketplace trends, risks, and opportunities to influence business decisions and long-term growth strategies.
•    Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, including senior merchant, planning, and executive stakeholders.
•    Serve as the primary strategic partner for DSG, regional sporting goods retailers, and Foot Inc.
•    Negotiate complex business opportunities while balancing brand objectives and commercial outcomes.
•    Represent Under Armour with confidence and credibility in customer-facing and executive leadership settings.
•    Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team focused on delivering exceptional business results.
•    Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous development.
•    Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and growth opportunities for team members.
•    Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives and customer plans.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree with typically 15 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with typically 13 years of relevant  experience, OR Typically 19 years of relevant work experience without degree.
•    12+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within Sporting Goods, footwear, apparel, or related consumer products industries.
•    Deep experience managing Sporting Goods accounts and wholesale distribution channels.
•    Proven success leading large revenue portfolios and strategic customer relationships.
•    Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
•    Strong business acumen, financial management, forecasting, and strategic planning capabilities.
•    Demonstrated executive presence with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels, including C-suite executives.
•    Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
•    Strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into action.
•    Courage to lead through change while maintaining a strong team culture and focus on results.
•    Ability to balance long-term brand priorities with short-term business needs.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

 

 $210,000.00-$270,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
