Purpose of Role

This role exists to turn strategy into action for the GMC org—connecting leadership intent to day-today execution across the business. It supports how the organization runs, ensuring teams are aligned, priorities are clear, and plans are delivered with discipline.

The role is split across two focus areas: 

  • GMC Planning & Operations– enabling the operating rhythm, planning processes, and leadership effectiveness 
  • Portfolio Integration & Execution– driving alignment and execution across portfolios go-tomarket and seasonal plans 

This leader is a connector and driver—bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to the most critical work across the organization.

Your Impact

GMC Planning & Operations

Enable the organization to operate effectively by supporting leaders, driving execution, and maintaining alignment to priorities.

  • Partner with the Chief of Staff and GMCLT leaders to translate strategy into execution, ensuring priorities are clearly defined, actionable, and progressing
  • Support GMCLT leaders in preparing for and executing against the rhythm of business, including business reviews and leadership forums, ensuring clear inputs, decisions, and follow-through
  • Lead and manage strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives, driving progress through structured planning, clear ownership, and accountability to deliverables
  • Conduct ongoing business and market analysis, connecting internal performance with external trends to inform priorities and actions
  • Translate data and insights into clear implications, recommendations, and actions to inform leadership decision-making
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support and develop executive-level communications and presentations, synthesizing complex inputs into clear, compelling narratives for leadership and key stakeholders
  • Analyze business performance and market trends, synthesizing internal results, consumer signals, and competitive dynamics into clear priorities and actions

Portfolio Integration & Execution

Ensure portfolio and category strategies are translated into clear, aligned, and executable plans that deliver at market. 

  • Translate portfolio and category strategies and seasonal priorities into actionable, crossfunctional plans that are commercially viable and globally aligned
  • Own coordination of key go-to-market milestones (kickoff, line reviews, sign-offs), ensuring teams are prepared, aligned, and on track
  • Ensure readiness for market, aligning category plans to regional needs and commercial expectations at each milestone
  • Maintain clear visibility across seasonal priorities and timelines, ensuring teams stay focused on what matters most
  • Support leadership with insights, performance updates, and decision support, synthesizing complex inputs into clear recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 10 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience or typically 14 years of relevant experience without degree
  • 8+ years’ work experience in Strategy, Planning, Merchandising, and/or Marketing at a Direct-to-Consumer retailer 
  • Strong ability to operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, with a track record of driving complex work forward
  • Experience working across cross-functional, matrixed organizations, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguity and drive clarity
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, build trust, and hold teams accountable without direct authority
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, including executive-level presentations
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience translating data into actionable insights
  • High level of ownership and follow-through; able to drive work from concept to completion
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD (HQ) office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

$140,000.00-$180,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
