Position Summary

Retail Design & Development Lead is responsible for managing the new space opening program for Strategic Accounts in wholesale business. This position manages multiple wholesale projects simultaneously in a fast-changing environment and is responsible for supporting accounts for Branded Spaces & Shop in Shops from project initiation till completion. Lead works with internal cross functional departments (Channel Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Merchandising, Space Design, Sales, Senior Managers and Global team) and the external stakeholders like the Accounts, Distributors and UA vendors; to ensure the projects are delivered on time, in scope, within budget & meeting UA’s quality standards. Being the primary point of contact for the accounts to drive the new space approval process, reviewing spaces & influencing key stakeholders in decision making; lead is also responsible to initiate improvements, set up tools – process & procedures to support the wholesale business for long time success. Lead is an independent contributor, capable of leading the Wholesale business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Acts as primary program lead & contact for the Strategic Accounts based in UK, to drive the new space approval process, reviewing spaces & influencing key stakeholders in decision making.
  • Manages the EMEA Wholesale branded space program; ensuring the projects will be delivered in scope, on time, within budget & quality standards; developing tools & procedures to deliver elevated spaces.
  • Collaborates & leads cross functional internal and external stakeholders (contractors, third party vendors, consultants, and architects); acting as primary lead for the channel.
  • Drives development and improvement of Branded Spaces design and toolkits; supports generation of guidelines (including fairs - showrooms).
  • Provides continuous value engineering on materials & toolkits; acts proactively in making data driven decisions on alternative approaches.
  • Manages the Budget & Capex of wholesale spaces (budget creation & follow up, forecasting, validation & close out).
  • Manages supply chain for new space openings and FF&E; places orders, tracks & monitors the global, regional, and local vendors.
  • An active part of the Retail Design & Development Team & supports other projects where necessary.  

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Attributes of Ideal Candidate: include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • University degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction or related studies
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, managing Retail Space, Shop in Shop and Branded Space projects for an international retailer
  • Proficiency in Autocad, Ms Office tools
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong Retail Space Program management skills
  • Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Ability
  • Strong cross functional communication skills
  • Preferred location is Manchester Area, UK.
