Purpose of Role

Manage the costing relationship with our strategic footwear production partners and key T2 suppliers.  Ensure timely and accurate cost sheet submission and engage with suppliers on cost negations. Work closely with Hong Kong and US headquarter teams to deliver costing strategy, framework and margin targets.

Your Impact

1) Analyze material, labor, overhead, and landed costs from vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
2) Monitor cost trends and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising product quality.
3) Work closely with Product development, design, sourcing, material, engineering and other functional teams to align cost with product specifications and margin targets.
4) Partner with functional teams to negotiate costs and validate quotations from T1 and T2 suppliers.
5) Evaluate material choices and the impact on overall product cost.
6) Support line reviews by providing accurate cost data for decision-making.
7) Validate CBDs to ensure cost and usage accuracy and transparency.
8) Recommend cost-saving initiatives and alternative sourcing options.
9) Maintain cost sheets and prices in Centric timely to ensure cost readiness for PO issuance and margin review.
10) Identify areas for continuous improvement in cost drivers and components, in particular related to efficiency improvement.
11) Provide costing leadership with cost analysis reports and actionable insights.
12) Support and execute global costing strategy or any ad hoc requests or reporting or other business needs.
13) Validate claims from vendors to ensure making the right payments.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of progressive work experience in the Footwear industry
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to review manufacturing processes and identify areas of improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data and draw rational conclusions as well as recommend solutions
  • Experience with Tableau, Centric PLM and Python a plus
  • A team player
