Position Summary

The Intern, Sustainability will have the opportunity to work at the APAC headquarter of a leading global sports apparel brand. He/She will work closely with the Sustainability Team to learn how the Team evaluates suppliers’ sustainability performance, and will have the opportunity to engage with suppliers, internal business units, industry partners, and peer companies to drive supply chain sustainability through a bundle of supply chain programs across T1 suppliers. This experience will provide valuable insights into how social sustainability is executed and promoted in the retail industry, and what UA does to contribute to its 2025 goals under the Team Pillar.

Area of Learning & Responsibilities

•    Support the team on Supply Chain Worker Care Programs, including but not limited to Worker Voice, WeCare+, Digital Trainings through engagement with suppliers and service providers to implement activities on ground and track progresses against KPIs 
•    Conduct data analysis on collected data from the Worker Voice and digital training dashboards and portals
•    Update program guidebooks 
•    Conduct research on best practices and market trends on wellbeing, gender empowerment related initiatives, and support in developing best practices guidance documents
•    Support the team to track vendor sustainability performance and build decks for semi-annual business review meetings 
•    Support the team in managing and troubleshooting the auditing/remediation platforms 
•    Support the team on administrative tasks and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by leaders 
•    Support APAC Green Machine to organize sustainability activities among offices that ties to corporate & DE&I goals to cultivate sustainable culture within business 
 

What Exposures will you gain by the end of the internship

•    Ability to be a part of the company-wide sustainability team contributing to the future of impact of the business, and protecting the people who make our products
•    Ability to collectively work with other players in the retail industry to drive social sustainability, gender equality and worker wellbeing in the retail industry 
•    Brush up your communication skill as working across a diverse organization with different culture and multiple geographies, as well as your data skills as analyzing and supporting the preparation of supplier scorecards, and program reports
 

Who are we looking for

•    Current Year 2 or above Undergraduate studying towards Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance or Environmental Management 
•    Previous internship experience in sustainability, not necessarily in garment/manufacturing field 
•    Creative thinking, open-minded, strong communication and interpersonal skills 
•    Fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin 
•    Strong Data Analysis Skills - Experience with Excel/Tableau or other data management systems in a plus

Base Compensation

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
