Position Summary

Fueled by our purpose, We Empower Those Who Strive for More, this role will focus on working closely with 3rd-party manufacturing partners to help implement Under Armour’s comprehensive environmental supply chain strategy to protect people and the planet by activating our Strategic Sustainability Framework and values, including -- and in particular -- Act Sustainably and Stand for Equality). Aligning with teammates who lead UA’s social/labor/human rights initiatives, this role will engage directly with suppliers to ensure improved environmental performance and progress toward Under Armour’s environmental targets and goals, including impact and transparency. Amid this work, the Sr. Professional will track and ensure suppliers’ progress within environmental capacity-building programs, as well as support identifying and recruiting candidates for these programs. The role will also partner with Sustainability teammates to further deepen and align the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) self-assessment and 3rd-party verification program with UA’s business processes, as well as compose and refine vendor scorecards and support other supplier-facing environmental performance work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with suppliers at least one or more times per quarter to ensure progress toward Under Armour’s current and forthcoming comprehensive environmental supply chain targets and goals for positive impact and transparency. Track their progress and refine / evolve tracking mechanisms over time. Ensure that suppliers understand the targets, goals, and requirements communicated by the team, and help facilitate regional / in time-zone trainings.
  • Track and ensure suppliers’ progress within environmental capacity-building programs like Aii, representing Under Armour if/as necessary in regional meetings with suppliers and other partners/collaborators. Support identifying candidates for capacity-building programs, engaging with suppliers as needed to maximize enrollment.
  • Support the team with qualitative and quantitative data analysis to help execute against, developing and refining environmental supply chain goals and targets, KPI, tracking systems, and platforms/reporting.
  • Support the team on reporting, including composing and refining the environmental section of vendor scorecards and preparing materials for Quarterly Business Review meetings with suppliers.
  • Partnering with other Sustainability teammates, further align and embed the work toward significant impact reduction within existing points of collaboration within Sustainability, with cross-functional teams and, as needed, with external collaborators.
  • Help generate supplier lists for FEM assessments, mail communications to suppliers, and answer individual questions. Support the team, as needed, with research on industry context and practices to advance program implementation.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Strong understanding of science-based targets and other environmental sustainability topics in manufacturing
  •  Understanding of the Higg FEM and apparel, footwear, and equipment supply chains and manufacturing processes helpful
  • Project management, writing, data analysis, and PPT experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience in a retail/consumer goods company or manufacturing facility helpful
  • Advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Strong organization and project management
  • Strong verbal, written, and PPT communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills/diplomacy and sound judgement, flexible work style

Education And / Or Experience

  • BA/BS in environmental sustainability or a degree related to textiles or supply chains, ideally with a combination of BA/BS in environmental sustainability or a degree related to textiles or supply chains, ideally with a combination of quantitative and qualitative focus
  • Graduate degree focused on manufacturing or corporate environmental sustainability preferred
  • 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably fast-paced work in corporate environmental sustainability, especially related to climate and/or water consulting or with an apparel/footwear/hard goods manufacturer

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Hong Kong Office
  • Return To Work Designation: Hybrid
  • Travel:  When needed, expected to be infrequent
