Purpose of Role

The HR Business Partner Intern (6 months internship) supports the HRBPs to administer various Human Resources policies, procedures, and processes in accordance with laws, standards and government regulations in Malaysia.

Your Impact

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Collaborate with Country HRBPs on corporate and retail recruitment.
  • Provide administrative support to corporate TA Partners throughout the recruiting process.
  • Assist with onboarding new teammates in partnership with Recruiters, Onboarding team, and Hiring Managers.

 

HR Processes & Compliance:

  • Support HRBP team with project management and analytics for core HR processes (compensation, performance management, talent management, reporting).
  • Communicate and administer HR policies, procedures, and processes in line with laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and advisories.

 

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Partner with Retail Ops to handle employee grievances.
  • Oversee and manage engagement activities and recognition programs.
  • Promote a positive teammate experience and drive company culture.

 

HR Operations:

  • Support end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Gather and process documentation for terminations and resignations.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and recommend improvements.

 

Office Management:

  • Perform office management duties as required

 

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to HRBP and Commercial Director (organizational charts, scheduling, meeting preparation).
  • Support SAPAC and retail personnel reports, including analysis and action planning.

Qualifications

  • Some knowledge of HR processes including payroll, performance management, talent management, compensation, training and organizational development.
  • Able to work with others to maintain and build cross-functional (internal and external) relationships
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, proficiency with HR systems
  • Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Good communication, negotiation & stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently, strong multi-tasking ability and detail-oriented

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred
  • Good generalist experience in most functional areas - Employee Relations, Employment Law, Staffing, Compensation, Organizational and Educational Development

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Kuala Lumpur office. (Level 33, Menara AIA Sentral No. 30, Jalan Sultan Ismail 50250 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia)
  • Return to Work Designation: 3 days week in-office, 2 days work-from-home.
