Purpose of Role
As a Distribution House Technician Assistant, you will work with the Maintenance and Facilities team in all aspects of the ongoing operations for the Distribution House. You will assist in all aspects of the Maintenance departments daily duties as well as maintaining the upkeep of the DH. This role shares in the responsibility of supporting and assisting the Maintenance and Facilities team to ensure that all tasks and projects are completed efficiently and effectively. Accountability for the routine maintenance including trouble-shooting electrical controls, ensuring proper functionality of all systems, and upholding the safety of all machines. This involves contributing to a safety culture and demonstrating Under Armour’s Core Competencies.
Your Impact
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment and reports any unsafe working conditions or equipment.
- Performs cleaning duties to include sweeping, mopping, running floor sweepers & scrubbers.
- Supports daily, weekly and monthly cleaning efforts.
- Operates and maintains battery equipment for Powered Industrial Equipment.
- Changes batteries using a multi-level handler.
- Installs barricades/handrails and other assorted equipment throughout the facility.
- Performs building repairs such as replace locks on doors, lights fixtures, minor wall and floor damage, plumbing issues, painting, etc.
- Removes all debris from sidewalks, walkways, parking lots and common areas including trash, wood, snow, plastic, paper, using blowers, shovels and/or chemicals.
- Operates power tools for repairs such as leaky toilets, replacing/securing guard & safety rails.
- Operates Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as a hand truck forklift and/or pallet truck to transport deliveries and move equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance of building systems based on preventative maintenance (PM) requirements.
- Assists Maintenance Technician with the repair and maintenance of all types of conveyors including, replacement of motors, reducers, scanners, sensors and all other components used in the assigned area.
- Assists Maintenance Technician and Electrician to trouble-shoot electrical controls (motor circuits, process or packaging machinery, and programmable controllers) using drawings, documentation, and required tools.
Qualifications
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Has basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process. Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works with close supervision.
- Experience in basic construction (framing, sheetrock, window/door installation, remodel/rebuild)
- Familiar with basic electrical systems (swap out light fixtures)
- Advanced painting abilities
- Able to operate or be trained on all MEWP, PIT and Utility Carts.
Computer Skills
- PC experience; MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
Other Skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 6 months warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Preferred experience operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklift and/or pallet truck.
The essential functions of the job are usually performed indoors and may rarely be performed outdoors, including during both hot and cold weather. Work performed will be near or involving moving mechanical equipment. Work may be performed at heights of up to 50 feet.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, climb, and stoop. Employee may be required to sit and perform computer-based work occasionally.
- The ability to frequently lift items weighing an average of 25 to 50 pounds throughout a full shift of work.
- Regularly handles objects, tools, and/or controls; reaches with arms; uses cutting device to open or break down cartons.
- May frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds overhead.
- Vision abilities depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
