Purpose of Role
We are searching for a Color Designer I to focus on and elevate Footwear Color Design. The Color Designer I will focus on color applications for various footwear categories. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative designer who is dialed into color, trends, culture and can influence future category color research and strategy.
Your Impact
- Design and present color concepts for footwear within various sport categories, specifically the Run category.
- Be a key partner in developing seasonal colorways that align with our greater color strategy.
- Collaborate with product designers and fellow color/material designers to create go-to-market concepts.
- Participate in design reviews with fellow footwear teammates offering insight and inspiration to the greater team
- Provide product conceptualization and alternatives that meet the needs of the product as outlined by product marketing and the product brief.
- Ability to push the boundaries in Footwear color, think outside the box and bring unique ideas to life
Qualifications
- Attention to detail and experience multitasking and working under tight deadlines.
- Passion every day to design compelling and cutting-edge product.
- Solid understanding of construction and materials; preferably well versed in manufacturing techniques.
- Strong taste level when it comes to color theory, color application and trends.
- Ability to express concepts and ideas through sketching.
- Strong presentation skills and comfortable working with a group.
- Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and to successfully meet multiple deadlines
- BFA or Graphic Design, Material Design, Fine Art, or a related field with 3+ years’ experience.
- Advanced user of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Workplace Location
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Portland, Oregon office.
- Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
Relocation
- Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount.
Base Compensation
$72,054.40 - $99,073.59 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
